Maps which Induce the Zero Map on Homotopy

Canadian Journal of Mathematics, 1968
In this paper, all spaces will have the homotopy type of simply connected CW-complexes, and will have base points which are preserved by maps and homotopies. We denote by [X, Y] the set of homotopy classes of maps from X to Y, and by N[X, Y] the subset of those homotopy classes [ƒ] which induce the zero homomorphism on homotopy, that is, is the zero ...

A Topos Induced by Qualitative Mapping

2010 IEEE International Conference on Granular Computing, 2010
It is shown that the Reasoning Lattice-Monoid Category L-M(Au, U, →) of the attribute set Au of object u can be constructed by the conjunction U between two attributes, and a Qualitaive Mapping Topos TQM(Au, *, →) of the category L-M(Au, *, →) can be induced by a Qualitative Mapping t(x, [a, b]) with qualitative criterion transformation T.

Mapping ethanol-induced deletions

Molecular and General Genetics MGG, 1991
Chromosomal rearrangements, uniformly represented by very large deletions, were stimulated upon transiently exposing Escherichia coli cells with a defective lambda prophage to about 18% (v/v) ethanol. It was shown that the ethanol treatment induced deletion formation rather than enriching for ethanol-tolerant cells.

Normal Maps Induced by Linear Transformations

Mathematics of Operations Research, 1992
We study a certain piecewise linear manifold, which we call the normal manifold, associated with a polyhedral convex set, and a family of continuous functions, called normal maps, that are induced on this manifold by continuous functions from Rn to Rn.

ON MAP INDUCED SHAPINGS

Quaestiones Mathematicae, 1977
Abstract Let Y be a paracompact Hausdorff space. We characterize those shape morphisms from X to Y which are induced by continuous maps from X to Y.
