ABSTRACT In February 2025, a mortality event of unknown aetiology occurred at a hybrid grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus × Epinephelus lanceolatus) aquaculture farm in southern Taiwan, with sporadic daily deaths persisting for a month. Four moribund groupers were collected over three sampling intervals for diagnostic investigation.

Platelet‐Rich Fibrins as Local Drug‐Delivery Carriers
Autologous platelet concentrates (APCs), particularly platelet‐rich fibrin (PRF), act as biologically active fibrin scaffolds, capable of entrapping and gradually releasing therapeutic agents in oral and periodontal therapy. The incorporation of bioactive compounds, such as antibiotics, antifungals, vitamins, antidiabetic drugs, and exosomes, enhances ...

Nine ant taxa were identified in a Brazilian hospital, with Tapinoma melanocephalum and Dorymyrmex brunneus being the most abundant. Eighty‐five percent of collected ants yielded detectable bacterial growth, including clinically relevant genera such as Acinetobacter, Pseudomonas, Escherichia coli and Pluralibacter.

Inducible Clindamycin Resistance in Clinical Isolates of Staphylococci
Background: The increasing frequency of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infections and the changing patterns of antimicrobial resistance have led to renewed interest in the use of macrolide-lincosamide – streptogramin B (MLSB) antibiotics to treat such infections.

Clindamycin-induced enrichment and long-term persistence of resistant Bacteroides spp. and resistance genes [PDF]
The aim was to study the long-term consequences of 1 week clindamycin administration regarding selection and persistence of resistance, resistance determinants and diversity of the Bacteroides spp. in the intestinal microflora.A total of 1306 Bacteroides isolates were collected from constitutively cultured faecal samples during a 2 year period from ...

A Reassessment of Prophylactic Antibiotics in Low‐Infection‐Risk Electrophysiology Procedures
ABSTRACT Certain electrophysiology (EP) procedures are associated with minimal tissue disruption and do not involve permanent transvenous leads. As a result, these interventions carry a lower risk of device‐ or procedure‐related infection. These procedures include placement of implantable cardiac monitors, leadless pacemakers, and left atrial appendage

Phenotypic Detection of Inducible Clindamycin Resistance in MRSA
Staphylococcus aureus is a common pathogen associated with community and hospital-acquired infections; it can rapidly develop resistance to new antibiotics. The emergence of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) has severely limited treatment options, necessitating the judicious use of effective antibiotics such as clindamycin ...
