Dual pKa Lipid Nanoparticles for Lung‐tropic mRNA Delivery and pH‐Programmed Endosomal Escape

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lipid nanoparticles’ bottleneck lies in low endosomal escape efficiency and liver‐dominant delivery after intravenous administration. To overcome these limitations, we present a stepwise pH‐programmed lipid nanoparticle system enabled by our newly synthesized ionizable lipid.

Pichinde virus induces microvascular endothelial cell permeability through the production of nitric oxide

open access: yesVirology Journal, 2009
This report is the first to demonstrate infection of human endothelial cells by Pichinde virus (PIC). PIC infection induces an upregulation of the inducible nitric oxide synthase gene; as well as an increase in detectable nitric oxide (NO).

The Serum Levels of Endothelium Nitric Oxide Synthase in Positive Cases for Helicobacter pylori Stool Antigen [PDF]

open access: yes
Background & Objectives: Endothelium nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) is a type of enzyme which produces an endogenous factor called nitric oxide (NO). NO plays important role in progress of euplastic diseases.

An RNA‐Binding Protein RBMS1 Promotes Endothelial Cell Autophagy to Maintain Vascular Homeostasis and Suppress Deep Vein Thrombosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
RBMS1, an RNA‐binding protein, restores vascular endothelial homeostasis by enhancing ATG3‐mediated autophagy, thereby attenuating thrombus formation and suggesting a potential avenue for further therapeutic exploration in DVT. ABSTRACT Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a prevalent vascular disorder characterized by aberrant coagulation within the deep ...

Pain modulation by nitric oxide in the spinal cord.

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2009
Nitric oxide (NO) is a versatile messenger molecule first associated with endothelial relaxing effects. In the central nervous system (CNS), NO synthesis is primarily triggered by activation of N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors and has a Janus face ...

Mesenchymal Stromal Cell‐Based Cell–Drug Conjugates for the Treatment of Acute Liver Failure

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC)‐based cell‐drug conjugates are constructed by anchoring rosiglitazone‐loaded nanoparticles onto the MSC surface. Sustained rosiglitazone release enhances MSC proliferation and paracrine activity while promoting anti‐inflammatory macrophage polarization.

The Interplay Between Melatonin and Nitric Oxide: Mechanisms and Implications in Stroke Pathophysiology

open access: yesAntioxidants
This work reviews the complex interplay between melatonin and nitric oxide (NO) in the central nervous system (CNS), with a detailed focus on its involvement in stroke pathophysiology. Melatonin, a neurohormone with potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory,

Role of Polymorphisms of Inducible Nitric Oxide Synthase and Endothelial Nitric Oxide Synthase in Idiopathic Environmental Intolerances

open access: yesMediators of Inflammation, 2015
Oxidative stress and inflammation play a pathogenetic role in idiopathic environmental intolerances (IEI), namely, multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS), fibromyalgia (FM), and chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS).

Endothelial nitric oxide synthase genotype and ischemic heart disease: meta-analysis of 26 studies involving 23028 subjects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Background: Polymorphisms in the endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) gene may influence the risk of ischemic heart disease (IHD), but data from published studies with individually low statistical power are conflicting.
