Tuberculosis in Malta : a case for sputum induction [PDF]
Sputum induction is a procedure used to help patients expectorate samples of sputum for laboratory analysis. It is a simple, safe and standardised procedure which may avoid the use of more invasive and potentially harmful interventions such as fibreoptic

Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Quotient inductive-inductive definitions [PDF]
In this thesis we present a theory of quotient inductive-inductive definitions, which are inductive-inductive definitions extended with constructors for equations. The resulting theory is an improvement over previous treatments of inductive-inductive and indexed inductive definitions in that it unifies and generalises these into a single framework. The

Discussant in the Symposia "Research on Practices of Teacher Induction Part II"
The symposium consists of two consecutive sessions (Research on Practices of Teacher Induction I and II). In the first paper of the first session (Part I), a theoretical framework was introduced, and the two following papers studied the practices of ...

Forward induction and the excess capacity puzzle: An experimental investigation [PDF]
While the theoretical industrial organization literature has long argued that excess capacity can be used to deter entry into markets, there is little empirical evidence that incumbent firms effectively behave in this way.

This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

A Comparison of Different Techniques for Induction Motor Rotor Fault Diagnosis
The problem of failures in induction motors is a large concern due to its significant influence over industrial production. Therefore a large number of detection techniques were presented to avoid this problem.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Checkmate: Exploring Backward Induction Among Chess Players [PDF]
Although backward induction is a cornerstone of game theory, most laboratory experiments have found that agents are not able to successfully backward induct.
