Geometrical Phenomena in Tube Bending with Local Induction Heating
Key Engineering Materials, 2014A theoretical and experimental analysis of heat induction bending for tubes used in the power industry is performed. First, the design of the heat induction bending process for tubes is described and industrial application areas for this technology are presented. Next, the main methods for tube bending with local induction heating are discussed and the

Bended differential transmission line using compensation inductance and capacitance
2015 IEEE 19th Workshop on Signal and Power Integrity (SPI), 2015In this paper, a bended differential transmission line using the compensation inductance and capacitance is proposed. The bended differential transmission line using the compensation inductance and capacitance can greatly reduce the TDT common-mode noise from 0.056 V to 0.019 V as compared with the bended differential transmission line using the right ...

Prediction of Plate Bending by High-Frequency Induction Heating
Journal of Ship Production, 2002In this study, we developed an analysis method of plate forming by induction heating and verified the effectiveness of the present method through a series of experiments. The phenomena of induction heating is a 3-D transient problem coupled with electromagnetic, heat transfer, and elastoplastic large-deformation analyses.

Induction of optical vortex in the crystals subjected to bending stresses
Applied Optics, 2012We describe a method for generation of optical vortices that relies on bending of transparent parallelepiped-shaped samples fabricated from either glass or crystalline solid materials. It is shown that the induced singularity of optical indicatrix rotation leads in general to appearance of a mixed screw-edge dislocation of the phase front of outgoing ...

The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2015
The constitutive equation of P11 alloy was built to describe the hardening curve obtained from the compression tests. Then, the local-induction-heating bending process of bend pipe with straight section was simulated by using the finite element method. The forming experiments were also performed based on the simulation results.

DNA structural changes such as bending play an important role in various biological reactions. Not only protein binding to its specific DNA sequence but also DNA bending induced by the protein is indispensable for unique gene expression. Therefore, an artificial protein that induces a DNA conformational change is interesting as a transcriptional ...

Deformation and Ductile Cracking Behavior of X80 Grade Induction Bends
4th International Pipeline Conference, Parts A and B, 2002Permanent ground movement is expected in seismic areas and in permafrost regions, and pipelines buried in those areas need to be designed to have sufficient deformability. Especially, bends need to have superior deformability, because it was pointed out in the recent earthquake event that deformation tends to concentrate in the connection region of ...

Cracking Analysis of Induction Heat Bend Pipe of X70 Steel
Advanced Materials Research, 2012Experimental methods, such as OM, SEM and X-EDS, were used to study the transverse cracks appeared on the external arc of tensile region during pipe bending. The pipe line steel consists of acicular ferrite (AF) and granular bainite (GB) with good mechanical properties.

Metallurgical aspects of induction-bending thick-walled super duplex pipework
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part L: Journal of Materials: Design and Applications, 2008In this article, the authors' present findings indicate that the induction-bending process can have a severe detrimental effect on the mechanical properties and the corrosion resistance of super duplex stainless steel. After outlining the parametric testing of the pipe that produced reduction in properties, the article presents comparative data from ...
