High Temperature Sealing Method: Induction Brazing for SOFCs

ASME 2009 7th International Conference on Fuel Cell Science, Engineering and Technology, 2009
The nickel based brazing alloys (BN-2, BNi-4) modified by reactive TiH2 have been studied for their gas sealing properties of anode-supported tubular SOFCs to ferritic stainless steel by induction brazing process. BNi-2 and BNi-4 are not wetted in YSZ electrolyte, but the brazing alloy with added TiH2 showed good wettability with YSZ electrolyte due to

Brazing of Aluminum Tubes Using Induction Heating

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
The contribution deals with the design of a progressive metallurgical joining of the solar collector parts by brazing. The main aim was to replace flame brazing by the more advantageous technology of brazing using high-frequency induction heating. New equipment and the induction coil of a suitable shape were designed for the joint manufacturing.

Research on Interfacial Microstructure of Ti-Coated Diamond Brazed and Uncoated Diamond Brazed by High-Frequency Induction

Key Engineering Materials, 2007
The Ti-coated diamond and the uncoated diamond were brazed with Ni-based filler alloy by high-frequency induction under argon atmosphere at 1050°C within 15 seconds. The interfacial microstructures between brazed diamond and the filler alloy were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersion spectrometer (EDS) and X-ray diffraction (

Efficient Induction Brazing for Ceramic-Steel Joints

Welding and Cutting
Recently, advanced ceramic cutting materials with high fracture toughness have been developed for various applications, especially high-speed machining of difficult materials like Ni- or Co-based superalloys. However, their use is limited to turning and milling with solid ceramic tools due to a lack of suitable joining techniques. This challenge can be
