Switching Techniques and Intelligent Controllers for Induction Motor Drive: Issues and Recommendations

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Induction motor drive is widely used in many load applications in approximately 60% of the total industrial load. However, the dynamic configuration of the induction motor, especially a three-phase induction motor (TIM) is a nonlinear system which is not

Development of a renewable hybrid power plant with extended utilization of pumped storage unit equipment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The scheme of a renewable hybrid power plant with the extended use of the installed equipment of the pumped storage unit for the conversion of the photovoltaic and wind generators direct current to the alternating one is proposed.

Cell density–dependent nuclear‐cytoplasmic shuttling of SETDB1 integrates with Hippo signaling to regulate YAP1‐mediated transcription

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
At low cell density, SETDB1 and YAP1 accumulate in the nucleus. As cell density increases, the Hippo pathway is gradually activated, and SETDB1 is associated with increased YAP1 phosphorylation. At high cell density, phosphorylated YAP1 is sequestered in the cytoplasm, while SETDB1 becomes polyubiquitinated and degraded by the ubiquitin–proteasome ...

Energy saving analysis for pump-motor set in water purification plant using variable speed drive

open access: yesScientific Reports
The induction motor is known to be the most reliable motor in the industry and is also the most energy-consuming load worldwide. It is noticeable in some production areas that the use of a high-capacity induction motor is not required at some operating ...

Field oriented control of induction motors [PDF]

open access: yes
Induction motors have always been known for their simple rugged construction, but until lately were not suitable for variable speed or servo drives due to the inherent complexity of the controls.

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Electric Vehicle Traction System Performance Enhancement Using a High-Gain Adaptive Controller

open access: yesIEEE Access
Electric vehicle traction systems often incorporate a field-oriented induction motor drive system with a proportional-integral (PI) speed controller having fixed gains.
