Induction motor drive parameters identification
IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 1998The paper deals with real-time identification of the rotor parameters of the induction motor drive. The model reference adaptative control technique has been used for synthesising two identifiers. An appropriate choice of the reference model allows a Lyapunov function to be built by means of which the updating law of the rotor time constant can be ...

Control improvement of induction motor drives
Conference Record of the Power Conversion Conference - Yokohama 1993, 2002Cancellation controllers can be realizable for induction motor drives, but unfortunately, parameter variations, especially rotor resistance, de-tune the control action. However it is shown by linearized analysis that this drawback can be overcome, except for flux variations, using conditioned feedback loops.

INTELLIGENT DRIVE FOR INDUCTION MOTOR CONTROL
Control and Intelligent Systems, 2008Soft computing techniques such as artificial neural networks and fuzzy logic have been used to design an intelligent drive for induction motor control. The objective of this work is to present a new method of control of induction motor using less Central Processing Unit (CPU) time.

Conference Record of 2004 Annual Pulp and Paper Industry Technical Conference (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37523), 2004
For years, the squirrel-cage induction motor has been the motor of choice for the pulp and paper industry, in both sine wave and variable frequency applications. Historically high torque, low speed applications used a combination of a reducer and either a squirrel-cage induction motor or a DC motor. This paper will address the use of an induction motor

Induction motors as Selsyn drives
Electrical Engineering, 1933The power Selsyn unit, an adaptation of the wound rotor induction motor, provides accurate remote control of angular motion, using only an electrical connection. The characteristics of these units are described briefly in this paper, and methods of calculating their performance are offered. Typical applications of Selsyn drives also are given.

Sensorless induction motor drives
IEE Seminar on Advances in Induction Motor Control, 2000The desirability of eliminating mechanical shaft sensors for induction motor drives has led many manufacturers to include sensorless vector drives to their product range. However, current generation sensorless drives are unable to exhibit the same performance as sensored vector drives, particularly at frequencies below a few Hz.

With more than 85% of electrical motors, induction motors (IMs) dominate the market for electrical motors and consume more than 60% of total industrial electricity across the globe [1]. Their extensive use is a result of their strong low-cost design along with their reliability and cheap maintenance.

Flywheel-induction-motor drive
Electrical Engineering, 1950MANY DRIVES with fluctuating loads must be equipped with flywheels in order to reduce the size of the motor required and the load peaks taken from the supply mains. This problem has been discussed in many papers and technical books, and it is obvious that the general-purpose induction motor cannot be used for flywheel drives.
