The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Performance Analysis of a Nine-Phase Squirrel Cage Induction Motor under Faulty Conditions

open access: yesEngineering Proceedings
This paper evaluates the performance of an inverter-fed nine-phase squirrel cage induction motor (SCIM) under faulty conditions. The induction motor’s stator core of the conventional National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) frame size of 90L ...

Optimization of the control loops of the variable frequency induction motor drive of the flame reactor feed screw

open access: yesEAI Endorsed Transactions on Energy Web, 2017
In the paper the optimization of the control loops of the variable frequency induction motor drive for the feed screw of a flame reactor has been carried out to obtain required dynamic characteristics of the electric drive for known parameters of the ...

Characterization and snubbing of a bidirectional MCT in a resonant ac link converter [PDF]

open access: yes
The MOS-Controlled Thyristor (MCT) is emerging as a powerful switch that combines the better characteristics of existing power devices. A study of switching stresses on an MCT switch under zero voltage resonant switching is presented.

Measurement and reduction of EMI radiated by a PWM inverter-fed AC motor drive system [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
This paper presents theoretical and experimental relationships in between radiated electromagnetic noises and common-mode and normal-mode currents, paying attention to an induction motor drive system fed by a voltage-source PWM inverter.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

An Adaptive Electric Differential for Electric Vehicles Motion Stabilization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
International audienceThis paper proposes a traction drive system for electric vehicles (EVs) with two separate induction motor drive-based wheels. In this case, an electric differential (ED) is developed.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Field oriented control of induction motors [PDF]

open access: yes
Induction motors have always been known for their simple rugged construction, but until lately were not suitable for variable speed or servo drives due to the inherent complexity of the controls.
