Versatile vector tools for efficient protein screening across multiple expression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A unified vector toolkit enables rapid protein expression screening across E. coli, insect, and mammalian cells. A single primer pair amplifies the target gene, which is inserted into any vector via a standardized interface. This streamlined workflow eliminates repeated cloning steps, accelerating the identification of optimal expression conditions for

Maternal and perinatal outcomes in women with and without hypertensive syndromes submitted to induction of labor with misoprostol

open access: yesHypertension in Pregnancy, 2017
Objectives: To determine maternal and perinatal outcomes according to the mode of delivery in normotensive and hypertensive women bearing a live, full-term fetus, who were submitted to labor induction with misoprostol. Methods: Retrospective cohort study.

Oxytocin and Oxytocinase in the Obese and Nonobese Parturients during Induction and Augmentation of Labor

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Perinatology Reports, 2019
Objective To investigate differences in oxytocin (OXT) biodistribution between nonobese and obese parturients during labor. Study Design Patients with body mass index (BMI) of either ≥ 18 ≤ 24.9 kg/m2 (“nonobese”) or ≥ 30 kg/m2 (“obese ...

Directed evolution of enzymes at the crossroads of tradition and innovation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An iterative cycle of data‐driven enzyme optimization comprising four stages: genetic diversification of a template enzyme, expression of protein variants, high‐throughput evaluation, and machine‐learning‐guided redesign of the next variant library.

Comparison of Vaginal and Oral Doses of Misoprostol for Labour Induction in Post-Term Pregnancies [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2016
Introduction: Considering maternal complications, it is preferred to induce labour after 40 weeks. Labour induction is a procedure used to stimulate uterine contractions during pregnancy before the beginning of the labour.

Accurate and noninvasive prostate cancer detection using plasma‐derived extracellular vesicle RNA

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Plasma extracellular vesicles were captured with WGA‐conjugated magnetic beads and profiled for RNA biomarkers. A three‐RNA panel (NM_024955, NR_047469, and NR_002564) distinguished prostate cancer from healthy controls and benign prostatic hyperplasia, supporting a simple, noninvasive approach to improve prostate cancer detection.

Effect of Intravenous Dexamethasone on Preparing the Cervix and Labor Induction

open access: yesActa Medica Iranica, 2015
The use of corticosteroids is one of the methods put forward for the strengthening and speeding up the process of labor. After identification of glucocorticoid receptors in human amnion, the role of corticosteroids in starting the process of labor has ...

Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy due to Biallelic Pathogenic Variants in PIGM

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective PIGM encodes a critical enzyme in the glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)‐anchor biosynthesis pathway. While promoter‐region mutations in PIGM have been associated with a relatively mild phenotype characterized by portal vein thrombosis and absence seizures, recent evidence suggests that coding‐region mutations result in a more severe

Outcomes and Associated Factors of Induction of Labor in East Gojjam Zone, Northwest Ethiopia: A Multicenter Cross-Sectional Study

open access: yesObstetrics and Gynecology International, 2023
Background. Induction of labor is the initiation of uterine contractions by artificial methods once the fetus has reached viability and prior to spontaneous onset of labor with the aim of achieving vaginal delivery.
