Inductive Reasoning in Patients with Paranoid Type Schizophrenia

open access: yesBilişsel Davranışçı Psikoterapi ve Araştırmalar Dergisi, 2017
The goal of our study is to evaluate the decision making and reasoning of the paranoid type schizophrenic patients, and their confidence in reasoning and perseverance in keeping to their decisions via using Reasoning with Inductive Argument Test (RIAT).

Diversity vs. ingroup: How children generalize for the common good

open access: yesActa Psychologica, 2023
How do children generalize for the common good? The present study investigated whether children are more likely to use the preference of their ingroup (ingroup rationale) or that of a diverse group (diversity rationale) as a basis for generalization ...

Graph-based inductive reasoning [PDF]

open access: yesStudies in History and Philosophy of Science Part A, 2016
This article discusses methods of inductive inferences that are methods of visualizations designed in such a way that the "eye" can be employed as a reliable tool for judgment. The term "eye" is used as a stand-in for visual cognition and perceptual processing. In this paper "meaningfulness" has a particular meaning, namely accuracy, which is closeness

Mechanically Tunable Bone Scaffolds: In Vivo Hardening of 3D‐Printed Calcium Phosphate/Polycaprolactone Inks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D bone scaffold with osteogenic properties and capable of hardening in vivo is developed. The scaffold is implanted in a ductile state, and a phase transformation of the ceramic induces the stiffening and strengthening of the scaffold in vivo. Abstract Calcium phosphate 3D printing has revolutionized customized bone grafting.

Inductive reasoning and kolmogorov complexity [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Computer and System Sciences, 1992
In this comprehensive note, the authors discuss several basic senses of inductive inference and their generalization to inductive reasoning. Neither Zadeh-type fuzzy reasoning nor Peirce-type abductive reasoning is addressed there. In the process, the authors refine Ockham's Rozor and combine principles of Epicurus, Ockham and Bayes in various useful ...

Reevaluating the Activity of ZIF‐8 Based FeNCs for Electrochemical Ammonia Production

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Though receiving much attention, the field of electrochemical nitrogen reduction reaction (eNRR) to ammonia is marked by doubts about whether this reaction is possible in aqueous media. This work sheds light on this question for iron single‐atom on N‐doped carbon (FeNC) catalysts—a class of well‐known catalysts that is also worth testing for the sister

Partially dissociative role of the left inferior frontal gyrus and left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex in reasoning.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
Reasoning is the ability to formulate inferences or conclusions from available information. The two major types, deductive and inductive, are thought to rely on distinct cognitive mechanisms and recruit separate brain areas.

Functional Materials for Environmental Energy Harvesting in Smart Agriculture via Triboelectric Nanogenerators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores functional and responsive materials for triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) in sustainable smart agriculture. It examines how particulate contamination and dirt affect charge transfer and efficiency. Environmental challenges and strategies to enhance durability and responsiveness are outlined, including active functional layers ...
