Feedback for electromagnetic induction sensor arrays
2016 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS), 2016A method using feedback is presented that reduces several measurement errors inherent in electromagnetic induction sensors. Errors associated with coupling between receive coils and errors associated with operating near magnetic soils will both be reduced.

The design of a proximity inductive sensor
Measurement Science and Technology, 1998In this paper we discuss the advantages of flat coil inductive proximity sensors. The coil copper helix may be realized by application of a photoengraving technique to two side-printed boards by a very cheap process. The low thickness allows one to get the coil closer to the target. This fact allows one to attain a higher sensitivity.

Embroidered Inductive Strain Sensor for Wearable Applications
2020 IEEE International Conference on Pervasive Computing and Communications Workshops (PerCom Workshops), 2020This paper presents a textile-based, embroidered inductive strain sensor that can be fabricated with standard embroidery processes and aesthetically integrated with apparel and garments fabrics. The sensor consists of two embroidered coupling coils (called coupling planar coils, or CPC) connected in series, and stacked on top of each other.

Inductive tangential displacement sensor
2016 39th International Spring Seminar on Electronics Technology (ISSE), 2016The objective of this paper is to investigate a new design of an inductive sensor, and its application for measuring tangential displacement. The sensor consists of one stationary inductor and a movable ferrite plate relative to the inductor. Tangential displacement can be measured as a change in the overlapping area between the inductor and the ...

Inductive powering of sensor modules
Twentieth Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition, 2005. APEC 2005., 2005An inductively powered system, aimed at providing wireless power to sensor modules, has been built and tested. The goal of the work is to determine the limits in terms of distances, and power transferable, using a 13.56 MHz system. Powering distances of up to 10 cm were obtained for power levels up to 1 mW.

Induction coil sensors—a review
Measurement Science and Technology, 2007This review describes induction coil sensors, which are also known as search coils, pickup coils or magnetic loop sensors. The design methods for coils with air and ferromagnetic cores are compared and summarized. The frequency properties of coil sensors are analysed and various methods for output signal processing are presented.

Simulation of Novel Linear Inductive Displacement Sensor
2011 21st International Conference on Systems Engineering, 2011One of the displacement measurement methods is using inductive sensors, usable for both small and large displacement. In this paper a 3-D linear inductive displacement sensor has been introduced. The proposed sensor consists of 2 elements that can measure 5cm with accuracy of 100im in large scale measurement.

Inductive verses capacitive sensors
World Pumps, 2013Both capacitive and inductive position sensors use a non-contact technique to measure position; both use AC electrical phenomena and both can be built using printed circuit boards. This article looks at the fundamental physics behind each technique and outlines the consequent strengths and weaknesses of each approach.
