An industrial engineering technique applied to pest management
Computers & Industrial Engineering, 1981Abstract Simulation of continuous systems has become a widely used tool for design and analysis in Industrial Engineering. This paper presents an application of the technique and the concept of systems dynamics to predict the status of bark beetle infestation in southern pine forests and to provide an estimate of subsequent timber loss.

Journal of Industrial Information Integration, 2019
Abstract New industrial initiatives such as Industrie 4.0 rely on digital end-to-end engineering across the entire product lifecycle, which in turn depends on the ability of the supporting software tools to interoperate. A tool interoperability approach based on Linked Data, and the OASIS OSLC standard, has the potential to provide such integration ...

Teaching Advanced Statistical Techniques to Industrial Engineers and Business Managers
Journal of Engineering Design, 1998Summary Advanced statistical techniques (AST) such as design of experiments (DoE) and Taguchi methods (TM) are well established methodologies in which only statisticians are formally trained. DoE and TM have been proved to be very effective for improving the process performance, process yield and reducing process variability.

Scale of production and choice of technique in the engineering industries in developing countries
Journal of Development Studies, 1990This article examines the relationship between scale of production, optimal choice of technique and costs for three engineering industries: nuts and bolts, iron founding and machine tools. In all three industries costs of production fell as the scale of output increased.
