Spatial Resolution in Industrial Tomography
IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 1983The parametric dependence of spatial resolution on tomographic parameters is investigated. The influence of Computerized Tomographic parameters, such as the number of angular views, ray spacings in a fan beam, the degree of collimation, and the magnitude of the object opacity, on the spatial resolution is studied.

Yardsticks for industrial tomography
Geophysical Prospecting, 2008ABSTRACTSeismic tomography has been developed and applied for decades in seismological applications and for basic research purposes. During the last decade, large‐scale applications in the oil and gas industry became standard as tomostatics and velocity modelling for pre‐stack depth migration. In this paper, I take a snapshot of some current industrial

Image analysis for industrial tomography
Experience of Designing and Applications of CAD Systems in Microelectronics. Proceedings of the VI-th International Conference. CADSM 2001 (IEEE Cat. No.01 EX473), 2002The measuring instruments for industrial applications must use robust noninvasive sensors which, if required, can operate in aggressive and fast moving fluids and multiphase mixtures. The choice of sensing system and a number of components to obtain information about the process in a pipeline is also presented.

Magnetic resonance imaging for industrial process tomography
Journal of Electronic Imaging, 2001Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a noninvasive method for quantitating in three dimensions the spatial distribution of water and/or hydrocarbons in an optically opaque environment. This article uses three applications to illustrate how that unique ability of MRI can provide insight to aspects of process engineering.

Status of electrical tomography in industrial applications
Journal of Electronic Imaging, 2001The paper surveys the status of electrical tomography for industrial applications. For the present purposes this is considered to include “low” excitation frequencies, up to about 1 MHz, comprising Resistance (ERT), Capacitance (ECT), Inductance (EMT) and Impedance (EIT) modalities.

Industrial Applications of X-Ray Computed Tomography
Advances in X-ray Analysis, 1987Computed tomography (CT), commonly known as CAT scanning (computerized axial tomography), is a technology that produces an image of the internaI structure of a cross sectional slice through an object via the reconstruction of a matrix of X-ray attenuation coefficients.

Monte Carlo optimization of an industrial tomography system
IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium Conference Record, 2005, 2005Computed tomography (CT) is becoming a very useful non-destructive testing technique, in the industrial field, since it permits the detection of small inner defects in a reliable and accurate way. In order to get very good performance, in terms of image contrast and spatial resolution, the configuration of the tomography system has to be optimized ...
