Nuclear tomography methods in industry

Nuclear Physics A, 2005
This paper reviews the foundation of gamma-ray transmission tomography methods in industry. There are two categories of industrial tomography systems; those using a single source and automatic scanning, and those using multiple sources and no mechanical scanning. The main purpose of the latter is to reveal the dynamics of industrial processes. Compared

Tangential Computed Tomography for Industrial Inspection

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2001
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Industrial computed tomography has developed from a medical technology base. As such industrial systems reflect medical requirements which are not necessarily efficient for industrial applications. The Tangential CT scanner is truly a volume scanner system designed for industrial inspection.

Film-based industrial tomography

NDT International, 1985
Abstract X-ray and gamma-ray tomographic inspection has enormous potential for all stages of industrial quality control. Film-based industrial tomography (FIT) is simple in operation and costs less than computerized tomography bt at least an order of magnitude.

Region of interest tomography in industrial applications

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 1990
Abstract Region of interest (ROI) tomography allows the reconstruction of a particular area of interest within a larger structure. However, projections restricted to a ROI may include contributions from objects external to that ROI. These contributions will lead to inconsistencies in the data and give rise to artifacts in the image.

Film based industrial computerized tomography

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 1987
Abstract Film based projection acquisition in industrial computerized tomography imaging has the potential for increasing spatial resolution performance by a factor of ten to one hundred. Utilizing microdensitometric evaluation of radiographic projections, effective detector sizes of a few microns may be achieved.

The 4th World Congress on Industrial Process Tomography

Journal of Visualization, 2006
The 4th World Congress on Industrial Process Tomography (WCIPT4) was held in Aizu, Japan, from September 5 to 8, 2005 (home page: http://www.vcipt.org.uk/wcipt4/). The congress venue was OnYado Toho, a traditional Japanese hotel in Higashiyama Onsen, which is approximately 15 minutes from Aizu-wakamatsu station by car and approximately 4 hours from ...

Ultrasound reflection tomography for industrial processes

Ultrasonics, 1998
Abstract The use of ultrasound reflection mode tomography has mainly been investigated with a reduced number of transducers, often just two. In a typical configuration one sensor is stationary while a second sensor is rotated around a circular arc taking a number of tomographic measurements which are used to reconstruct an image.

Application of Computer-Tomography in Industrial Problems

1987
After the fast development of X-ray-computer-tomography in medicine a wide range of applications of CT in industry is expected, as was the case with conventional X-ray techniques.
