A comparison between the database industries in the US and Japan
Journal of Information Processing and Management, 2002 世界で最も歴史があり，産業規模も大きい米国のデータベース産業と比較することで，わが国データベース産業の現状と課題を明らかにした。データベース産業規模の重要な指標である売上高は，日米間で1995年以降拡大の傾向にあり，1997年には米国は日本の9.6倍となった。そこで，データベース産業を8種類の専門情報と消費者向けサービスの合計9種類の分野に分け，日米の産業規模の比較を行った。1999年のWeb／オンライン（データベース）サービス売上高は，米国が日本の14.7倍となっており，差がさらに拡大する傾向にある。米国と日本とのWeb／オンライン（データベース）サービスの分野別売上比率は，「株式取引関連」が12.0倍，「財務ニュース・リサーチ」が15.7倍，「市場情報」が127.7倍と大きく開いていたが，一方で「

CEACAM1 participation in breast cancer progression
Molecular Oncology, EarlyView.In invasive breast cancer (BC), CEACAM1 shifts from an apical to a uniform membranous/cytoplasmic pattern, or is lost, as tumors dedifferentiate, inversely tracking the Ki‐67 proliferative index. In MCF‐7 cells, only CEACAM1‐4L suppresses proliferation, repressing cell cycle and growth factor genes.

Pharmacological chromatin remodeling enhances response to estrogen therapy in ER+ breast cancer

Molecular Oncology, EarlyView.This study identifies somatostatin receptor 4 (Sstr4) as a critical tumor suppressor against skin and head/neck cancers (HNSCC, cSCC, and BCC). The loss of Sstr4 removes a check on cell growth, causing hyperactivation of the MAPK‐ERK signaling pathway (↑).

FEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.This study investigated a novel WST‐8‐based assay for evaluating d‐Amino acid oxidase (DAO) inhibitors. We confirmed its effectiveness using known inhibitors and found that uremic toxins possess relatively weak inhibitory activity compared to existing drugs.
