The SEXTANTS beamline at SOLEIL: a new facility for elastic, inelastic and coherent scattering of soft X-rays

open access: yes, 2013
SEXTANTS is a new SOLEIL beamline dedicated to soft X-ray scattering techniques. The beamline, covering the 50-1700 eV energy range, features two Apple-II undulators for polarization control and a fixed-deviation monochromator.

Chiral Acoustic Phonon and Conservation of Pseudoangular Momentum in α‐Quartz

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Chiral acoustic phonons in α‐quartz are probed via Brillouin light scattering, exploiting the photon's helicity and the crystal's handedness. The interaction obeys a selection rule arising from pseudoangular momentum conservation, enabling direct optical access to phonon chirality in nonsymmorphic crystals.

Inelastic Neutron Scattering on 160Gd

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2014
The nature of low-lying excitations, Kπ=0+ bands in deformed nuclei remain enigmatic in the field, especially in relationship to quadrupole vibrations.

Ultrafast Terahertz Field Control of the Emergent Magnetic and Electronic Interactions at Oxide Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Intense single‐cycle THz electric‐field pulses enable ultrafast control of emergent electronic and magnetic states at LaNiO3/CaMnO3 interfaces. Combined X‐ray and optical probes reveal sub‐picosecond demagnetization driven by spin‐polarized currents and slower magnetoelastic dynamics linked to spin–lattice coupling.

Elastic and inelastic scattering of 15N ions by 12C nuclei at energy 81 MeV

open access: yesЯдерна фізика та енергетика, 2018
ew angular distributions of the 15N + 12C elastic and inelastic scattering were measured at the energy Elab (15N) = 81 MeV. The data were analyzed within the coupled-reaction-channels method (CRC). The elastic and inelastic scattering as well as the more

Lifetimes of Stark-shifted image states

open access: yes, 2005
The inelastic lifetimes of electrons in image-potential states at Cu(100) that are Stark-shifted by the electrostatic tip-sample interaction in the scanning tunneling microscope are calculated using the many-body GW approximation. The results demonstrate

Tuning the Surface State and Zeta Potential of Aged CuO Nanoparticles by Additive‐Free Surface Treatments as Guided by XPS

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Aging of CuO nanoparticles (NP) involves a surface reconstruction induced by hydroxylation and concurrent organic‐O adsorption, which introduces O defects in the NP subsurface region. The defective surface results in a diffuse surface space region, as reflected by a low ζ‐potential of the aged NPs in ethanol solvent.

Beam-helicity asymmetries for single-hadron production in semi-inclusive deep-inelastic scattering from unpolarized hydrogen and deuterium targets

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2019
A measurement of beam-helicity asymmetries for single-hadron production in deep-inelastic scattering is presented. Data from the scattering of 27.6 GeV electrons and positrons off gaseous hydrogen and deuterium targets were collected by the HERMES ...
