A von Hamos x-ray spectrometer based on a segmented-type diffraction crystal for single-shot x-ray emission spectroscopy and time-resolved resonant inelastic x-ray scattering studies.

open access: yesReview of Scientific Instruments, 2012
We report on the design and performance of a wavelength-dispersive type spectrometer based on the von Hamos geometry. The spectrometer is equipped with a segmented-type crystal for x-ray diffraction and provides an energy resolution in the order of 0.25 ...

Delocalization in inelastic scattering

open access: yesUltramicroscopy, 1995
How delocalized is an EELS signal? For instance, how far from a silicon atom must the electron probe be before a Si edge can be detected? A crude estimate of a localization length (λθE) suggests a maximum impact parameter of 50 A for a typical plasmon loss. Yet with care, subnanometer resolution plasmon maps can be achieved.

Mixed Quantum/Classical Theory for Inelastic Scattering of Asymmetric-top-rotor + Atom in the Body-fixed Reference Frame and Application to the H\u3csub\u3e2\u3c/sub\u3eO + He System [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The mixed quantum/classical theory (MQCT) for inelastic molecule-atom scattering developed recently [A. Semenov and D. Babikov, J. Chem. Phys.139, 174108 (2013)] is extended to treat a general case of an asymmetric-top-rotor molecule in the body-fixed ...

Inelastic Scattering and Interference

open access: yesMicroscopy and Microanalysis, 1997
Abstract Recently it has been a matter of controversy whether inelastically scattered electrons can yield interference fringes so as to obtain holograms, and in particular whether compensation of energy loss in the object by energy gain in the source will maintain coherence [1].

Magnetic excitation in the hyperkagome antiferromagnet Mn_{3}RhSi

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
In a paramagnetic state of a hyperkagome lattice antiferromagnet Mn_{3}RhSi, magnetic diffuse scattering by magnetic short-range order is observed over a wide temperature range of approximately 500 K above the Néel temperature of 190 K.

Intrasubband and Intersubband Electron Relaxation in Semiconductor Quantum Wire Structures

open access: yes, 2000
We calculate the intersubband and intrasubband many-body inelastic Coulomb scattering rates due to electron-electron interaction in two-subband semiconductor quantum wire structures.
