Cabbage pest control with local inert dusts: do diatomaceous earth and wood ash have the highest potential?

open access: yesActa Agriculturae Scandinavica. Section B, Soil and Plant Science
Cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. alba) production in Europe faces challenges from insecticide resistance and environmental concerns. Inert dusts offer a promising alternative, but their field efficacy remains underexplored.

β‐Catenin/c‐Myc Axis Modulates Autophagy Response to Different Ammonia Concentrations

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, Volume 9, Issue 3, March 2025.
Ammonia, detoxified by the liver into urea and glutamine, impacts autophagy differently at varying levels. Low ammonia activates autophagy via c‐Myc and β‐catenin, while high levels suppress it. Using Huh7 cells and Spf‐ash mice, c‐Myc's role in cytoprotective autophagy is revealed, offering insights into hyperammonemia and potential therapeutic ...

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Superlubricity and Corrosion Inhibition Properties of Solvate Ionic Liquids in Hybrid Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic–Steel Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Solvate ionic liquids lubrication reduced the coefficient of friction by ∼60% compared to dry sliding, reaching steady‐state values as low as 0.04–0.05. Corrosion weight‐loss measurements in 1 M HCl further demonstrated significant inhibition behavior, with only 100 ppm of [Li(G3)][TFSI] (∼68.5 μL/L) reducing corrosion‐product weight loss by 63 ...

Moisture content and application rates of inert dust: effects on dust and wheat physical properties

open access: yesFood Research, 2022
Grain protectants such as inert dust help prevent quality deterioration during post-harvest storage. Understanding the physical characteristics of inert dust and inert dust treated wheat kernels could help develop solutions to flow problems of stored grain.

EVALUATION OF SOME NATURAL AND SYNTHETIC INERT DUSTS AGAINST KHAPRA BEETLE Trogoderma granarium EVERTS REARED ON TREATED WHEATS GRAINS [PDF]

open access: yesMesopotamia Journal of Agriculture, 2010
This study was conducted to evaluate a group of inert dusts against khapra beetle Trogoderma granarium Everts by the determination of population density of the insect and the loss of weight caused by it when reared on wheat treated with dusts for 3 and 7
