The Ontology of Social Objects: Harman’s Immaterialism and Sartre’s Practico-Inert
In his recent Immaterialism, Graham Harman develops a theory of social objects based on his object-oriented ontology. Whereas some of the more mainstream theories in the humanities would dissolve such objects into their material constituents or their ...

Inertia describes the ability of a movement to persist, after the application of the initial driving force. The earth’s biophysical cycles have inertia of their own, while social systems have a particular dynamic, giving rise to other forms of inertia.

Insights into PI3K/AKT signaling in B cell development and chronic lymphocytic leukemia
This Review explores how the phosphoinositide 3‐kinase and protein kinase B pathway shapes B cell development and drives chronic lymphocytic leukemia, a common blood cancer. It examines how signaling levels affect disease progression, addresses treatment challenges, and introduces novel experimental strategies to improve therapies and patient outcomes.

Matrix rank and inertia formulas in the analysis of general linear models
Matrix mathematics provides a powerful tool set for addressing statistical problems, in particular, the theory of matrix ranks and inertias has been developed as effective methodology of simplifying various complicated matrix expressions, and ...

In lymphoid organs, antigen recognition and B cell receptor signaling rely on integrins and the cytoskeleton. Integrins act as mechanoreceptors, couple B cell receptor activation to cytoskeletal remodeling, and support immune synapse formation as well as antigen extraction.

A stepwise emergence of evolution in the RNA world
How did biological evolution emerge from chemical reactions? This perspective proposes a gradual scenario of self‐organization among RNA molecules, where catalytic feedback on random mixtures plays the central role. Short oligomers cross‐ligate, and self‐assembly enables heritable variations. An event of template‐externalization marks the transition to

Money, prices and fiscal lags: a note on the dynamics of inflation
The monetarist-structuralist controversy, which was in full swing at the turn of the decade in Latin America, appears to be now well past its climax, and the prevailing view is that a combination of both real and monetary causes are responsible for the ...

Glutaredoxin (Grx) 3 proteins contain a thioredoxin domain and one to three class II Grx domains. These proteins play a crucial role in iron homeostasis in eukaryotic cells. In human Grx3, at least one of the two Grx domains, together with the thioredoxin domain, is essential for its function in iron metabolism.

In the paper, the flow of a Newtonian type of lubricant in the clearance of a curvilinear bearing is considered. It is assumed that the bearing walls are modelled as smooth and impermeable.
