THE NURSING INFANT [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the American Medical Association, 1915
The purpose of this paper is to offer some practical suggestions for the prevention and correction of those far too frequent nutritional disturbances of breast babies due to faulty feeding. During the first few months of infancy, there is probably more milk than at any other time during the nursing period, and the digestive system of the infant is ...

State‐of‐the‐Art, Insights, and Perspectives for MOFs‐Nanocomposites and MOF‐Derived (Nano)Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Different approaches to MOF‐NP composite formation, such as ship‐in‐a‐bottle, bottle‐around‐the‐ship and in situ one‐step synthesis, are used. Owing to synergistic effects, the advantageous features of the components of the composites are beneficially combined, and their individual drawbacks are mitigated.

SYMPTOMATOLOGY IN INFANTS. [PDF]

open access: yesJAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1883
By many persons, the study of disease in infants is regarded as peculiarly difficult, because of the absence of speech by which to indicate the presence and location of certain symptoms. The late Prof. C. D. Meigs, on the contrary, was wont to felicitate himself on this as an advantage. He would say, “An infant never tells a lie.” It cannot imitate the

The wheezing infant [PDF]

open access: yesMedicine, 2003
Wheeze is a symptom and not a diagnosis. It is extremely common in infancy; 20-30% of children have experienced recurrent episodic wheezing by the age of 12 months. Wheezing may result from widespread peripheral airway narrowing or, less commonly, from localized central disease.

High‐Performance Electrocatalysts of Potassium Lactate Oxidation for Hydrogen and Solid Potassium Acetate Production

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 13, April 2, 2025.
Potassium lactate, produced from polylactic acid plastic waste, is oxidized to potassium acetate on an anode using Ni(Co)OOH as the electrocatalyst, while hydrogen is simultaneously generated at the cathode, through a highly efficient industrial‐scale electrolysis system.
