The nucleic acid of infectious bronchitis virus [PDF]
The nucleic acid of infectious bronchitis virus (IBV), like that of other enveloped viruses, consists of discontinuous single stranded RNA. However, unlike many other viruses, there is extreme heterogeneity in the sizes of the RNA fragments, as revealed by centrifugation in sucrose gradients or electrophoresis in polyacrylamide gels.

ABSTRACT Acute Myeloid Leukemia predominantly affects older adults, who often present with comorbidities, functional impairment, and frailty, limiting eligibility for intensive chemotherapy or allogeneic transplantation. Historically, treatment options were restricted to hypomethylating agents, low‐dose cytarabine, hydroxyurea, or supportive care, with

SGLT2 inhibitor use at discharge was associated with a reduced risk of heart failure readmission in elderly patients with diabetes, with no significant differences among individual agents. ABSTRACT Aims To evaluate the effect of sodium–glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitor (SGLT2i) administration at hospital discharge on heart failure (HF) readmission ...

Large‐scale meta‐analysis of infection risk with JAK–STAT inhibitors in 29,000 patients
In this large meta‐analysis of 74 randomized controlled trials involving more than 29,000 patients, JAK–STAT inhibitors were associated with an increased risk of influenza, bronchitis and herpes infections, particularly herpes zoster, while an increased risk of serious opportunistic or fungal infections was not observed.

Genotyping of infectious bronchitis virus in Canada
From 2014–2023, infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) was detected in 6,589 samples from Canada, and partial nucleotide (nt) sequences of the IBV spike protein ( S) gene were determined for 1,678 samples. Based on their S gene nt sequence identities and origin, Canadian IBVs could be classified into 4 groups: 1) 50.3% were variant viruses related to ...

Molecular Epidemiology of Infectious Bronchitis Virus in The Netherlands
Twelve Dutch isolates and the M41 strain of infectious bronchitis virus (IBV), a coronavirus of chickens, were characterized by cross-neutralization and T1 finger-printing to elucidate their evolutionary relationship. The T1 fingerprinting showed that the Dutch isolates formed two clusters.
