Detection of Serratia marcescens and Mierococcus lysodeikticus Bacterial Cells Using Cerium Oxide/Transition Metal Dichalcogenides Heterostructure‐Based Surface Plasmon Resonance Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 6, Issue 4, April 2025.
A novel surface plasmon resonance sensor is developed using cerium oxide (CeO2) and transition metal dichalcogenides heterostructures for detecting Serratia marcescens and Micrococcus lysodeikticus bacterial cells. Based on the Kretschmann configuration, it achieves high sensitivity (369.40° RIU−1), quality factor (151.35 RIU⁻1), and detection accuracy

Virulent Factor‐Targeted Point‐of‐Care Biosensor for Detection of Staphylococcus Aureus Infections

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, Volume 4, Issue 4, April 2025.
In this work, the use of aureolysin as a biomarker of Staphylococcus Aureus infection in periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) is presented for the first time. Through the immobilization of an anti‐aureolysin antibody on gold nanospike‐modified screen‐printed electrodes, it is successfully detected aureolysin in both buffer solution and bacterial ...

Non‐Membrane Active Peptide Resensitizes MRSA to β‐Lactam Antibiotics and Inhibits S. aureus Virulence

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 15, April 17, 2025.
This work identifies a potent, non‐membrane active, and non‐toxic AMP termed GN1, which substantially resensitizes MRSA to multiple β‐lactam antibiotics at low concentrations. GN1 functions by suppressing MRSA‐associated resistance determinants, including penicillin‐binding protein 2a (PBP2a) and β‐lactamase.
