Inferior Mesenteric Artery Reimplantation
2021When the aortic aneurysm is entered, the orifice of the inferior mesenteric artery should be inspected. If pulsatile backbleeding is noted, it is usually safe to oversew the origin of the inferior mesenteric artery. The orifice is suture ligated from within the aneurysmal lumen to avoid injury to its branches, especially at the junction of the left ...

Renal artery originating from the inferior mesenteric artery
The British Journal of Radiology, 1979The arterial supply to the kidneys is variable. Many papers have been written dealing with the blood supply to normal and congenitally abnormal kidneys (Anson et al., 1936; Graves, 1956; Merklin and Michels, 1958; Olsson and Wholey, 1964). Variations in the number of renal arteries are very frequent and, indeed, a single renal artery may be present in ...

Inferior Mesenteric Artery Stenting: A Solution for Chronic Mesenteric Ischemia
Perspectives in Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy, 2009Chronic mesenteric ischemia (CMI) is a rare entity with potentially tragic consequences. Meanwhile, there is still no consensus regarding the most adequate treatment approach. The authors herein report a case of a 65-year-old woman with severe CMI as a result of an occlusion of both the celiac artery (CA) and superior mesenteric artery (SMA) and a ...

Annals of Vascular Surgery, 2001
We report a case of a large aneurysm of the inferior mesenteric artery that extended from its origin to bifurcation in the left colic and sigmoidal arteries, and was associated with occlusion of the celiac and superior mesenteric arteries in a 64-year-old patient. The diagnosis was made by arteriography.

Inferior mesenteric artery aneurysms.
Surgery, 1985Two patients were treated for asymptomatic aneurysms of the inferior mesenteric artery during reconstructive operation for infrarenal aortic disease. These lesions were discovered incidentally during arteriographic study in one case and during operation in the second case.

Rare case of the inferior mesenteric artery arising from the superior mesenteric artery
The Anatomical Record, 1987AbstractThe authors observed a variation of the inferior mesenteric artery, which arose from the superior mesenteric artery, in a 69‐year‐old Japanese male cadaver during dissection in 1984. In this case, no rudiment of the ordinary inferior mesenteric artery could be found on the abdominal aorta.

A rare variation of the inferior mesenteric artery in man
The Anatomical Record, 1966AbstractA case in which the inferior mesenteric artery arose from the superior mesenteric artery is recorded in the cadaver of a 76‐year‐old Caucasian male who had died of carcinoma of the lung.A review of the literature since 1736 indicates that this is an extremely rare abnormality.

[Aneurysm of the inferior mesenteric artery].
Annales de cardiologie et d'angeiologie, 1988Aneurysm of the inferior mesenteric artery is rare. Often unrecognized unless complicated, it is, today, demonstrated by sonography or tomodensitometry and confirmed by angiography. Usually observed in patients with atheroma, it presents a mechanical origin secondary to a "jet disorder" phenomenon occurring in an artery with a hyper-output, responsible

Spontaneous isolated inferior mesenteric artery dissection
Abdominal Imaging, 2010This report presents a case of a spontaneous isolated inferior mesenteric artery (IMA) dissection. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first report in the literature. A fifty-eight-year-old female who suffered from acute left lower abdominal pain was admitted.
