Anterior Transposition of the Inferior Oblique
Journal of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, 1981Abstract Modification of the standard recession of the inferior oblique muscle for overacting inferior obliques has been performed by the authors. The inferior oblique has been detached from the globe as in the usual recession procedure, but has been reattached slightly anterior to the temporal border of the insertion of the inferior rectus ...

Bilateral Anterior Transposition of the Inferior Obliques
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1989Sixty-one children with bilateral overaction of the inferior oblique muscle with concurrent or previous infantile esotropia received bilateral inferior oblique recessions with anteriorization to a point 2 to 4 mm anterior to the lateral end of the inferior rectus insertion.

Anterior Transposition of the Inferior Oblique
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1992Anterior transposition of the inferior oblique insertion has been described as an effective procedure for weakening the inferior oblique and for decreasing dissociated vertical deviation. It has been postulated that this occurs by converting the inferior oblique muscle from an elevator to a depressor.

Myectomy versus anterior transposition for inferior oblique overaction
Journal of American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, 2007Inferior oblique overaction can be either secondary (as a sequela of ipsilateral superior oblique palsy) or primary (commonly associated with horizontal strabismus). Superior oblique underaction often coexists with both primary and secondary inferior oblique overaction.

Inferior Oblique Overaction: Anterior Transposition Versus Myectomy
Journal of Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus, 2017Purpose: To compare the efficacy of inferior oblique myectomy and anterior transposition for correcting inferior oblique overaction (IOOA). Methods: This retrospective study was conducted on 56 patients with IOOA who had either myectomy or anterior transposition of the inferior ...

Anterior Transposition of the Inferior Oblique Muscle for Dissociated Vertical Deviation
Ophthalmology, 1993Recently, anterior transposition of the inferior oblique muscle was reported to be an effective treatment for dissociated vertical deviation (DVD), but data on long-term stability have not been reported.A retrospective, longitudinal analysis of 17 consecutive patients (22 eyes) with dissociated vertical deviation and inferior oblique overaction who had

Recession and anterior transposition of the inferior oblique for treatment of superior oblique palsy
Graefe's Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology, 1988We evaluated the effectiveness of inferior oblique recession with anterior transposition in treating 12 patients with superior oblique palsy. Mean decreases of hypertropia measured 17 prism diopters in the primary position, 24 prism diopters in adduction, and 21 prism diopters on ipsilateral head tilt.

Anterior Transposition of the Inferior Oblique in the Treatment of Unilateral Superior Oblique Palsy
Journal of Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus, 1995ABSTRACT Anterior transposition of the inferior oblique (ATIO), is an accepted surgical procedure for the treatment of primary inferior oblique overaction and dissociated vertical deviation. Our study was undertaken to see if ATIO could be useful in the treatment of preselected unilateral superior oblique palsy (SOP) patients.

Anterior Transposition of the Inferior Oblique Muscle for Treatment of Superior Oblique Palsy
Journal of Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus, 2002ABSTRACT Purpose: Weakening of the inferior oblique muscle is the procedure of primary importance in patients with superior oblique palsy, Knapp's Classes I and III. In this study, the effectiveness of anterior transposition of the inferior oblique muscle in treatment of these patients was evaluated.

Benefits of Bilateral Anterior Transposition of Inferior Obliques
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1986To the Editor. —Your publication of "Primary-Position Hypotropia After Anterior Transposition of the Inferior Oblique" by Bremer et al1was a genuine service. In September 1982,I presented three nearly identical cases to the Texas Society for Pediatric Ophthalmology.
