Inferior Vena Cava Filter Insertion [PDF]
Inferior vena cava filtration is a common albeit controversial practice. Filter insertion varies widely by hospital. In my practice, nearly all patients with deep venous thrombosis or pulmonary embolism who are unable to undergo anticoagulation receive an inferior vena cava filter.

Lanthanide‐doped polyurea microspheres are prepared via a facile one‐step precipitation polymerization. They exhibit strong hydrogen‐bonding and coordination interactions with excellent properties, including multicolor emission, high quantum yield (75.3%), remarkable stability, redispersibility, and biocompatibility.

Abstract Background Ex vivo lung perfusion (EVLP) allows the evaluation of lungs that do not meet standard transplantation criteria. Current procedures do not permit the identification of regional functional deficits. We investigated the feasibility of assessing lobar gas exchange during EVLP in a swine model.

Abstract Aims The prognostic significance of left ventricular (LV) diastolic dysfunction (LVDD) severity in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) remains uncertain. This study aimed to evaluate the association of LVDD severity and elevated left atrial pressure (eLAP) with patient outcomes in stable, non‐acutely decompensated patients with DCM ...

Inferior vena cava filter fracture and migration to the pulmonary artery
Inferior vena cava (IVC) filters provide a safe and effective method for protecting against pulmonary embolisms in patients for whom standard anticoagulation therapy for acute deep vein thrombosis is contraindicated.

Prognostic role of TAPSE to PASP ratio in outpatients with left ventricular systolic dysfunction
Abstract Aims Few data are available regarding the role of tricuspid annulus plane systolic excursion to pulmonary artery systolic pressure (TAPSE/PASP), a measurement of right ventricular to pulmonary artery coupling, in patients with chronic heart failure and left ventricular systolic dysfunction.

We developed a lightweight deep learning framework that integrates frequency‐ and spatial‐domain ultrasound features with segmentation‐assisted classification for hepatic echinococcosis diagnosis. The model outperformed existing state‐of‐the‐art methods in both accuracy and inference speed while requiring substantially fewer computational resources ...
