Evolution and Provenance of the Polish Rotliegend in the Southern Permian Basin

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Earth Surface, Volume 131, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract The Southern Permian Basin (SPB) has been extensively explored for ore deposits. However, a comprehensive evaluation of the remaining copper potential, specifically for sediment‐hosted stratiform copper system, remains lacking. This study applies goSPL, an open‐source landscape and stratigraphic evolution model, to reconstruct the Permian rift‐

MODELLIERUNG VON STAHLRAHMEN MIT AUSFACHUNGSMAUERWERK [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008

Bipedalism or bipedalisms: The os coxae of StW 573

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, Volume 248, Issue 2, Page 163-183, February 2026.
There has been a long debate about the possibility of multiple contemporaneous species of Australopithecus in both eastern and southern Africa, potentially exhibiting different forms of bipedal locomotion. Here, we describe the previously unreported morphology of the os coxae in the 3.67 Ma Australopithecus prometheus StW 573 from Sterkfontein Member 2

Abnormally Large Magma Flux Does Not Lead to Eruption in Subduction Zone Calderas: The 2022–2023 Episode of Uplift of Aniakchak Crater (Aleutians)

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 2, 28 January 2026.
Abstract Observations of ground deformation provide insights on the triggering mechanisms of eruptions. At Aniakchak Crater (Aleutians) InSAR measured ∼ ${\sim} $72 cm of uplift in less than 7 months between 2022 and 2023. The uplift can be explained by the inflation of a point pressure source at a depth of 3.2 km.

Isothermal Thermoluminescence Dating of Coral Reef Calcite: Implications for Sea‐Level Change

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 2, 28 January 2026.
Abstract Reconstructing past sea‐level changes is critical in Quaternary science. On remote oceanic reefs, aragonite‐to‐calcite alteration occurs during subaerial exposure, directly recording the timing of sea‐level fall. U–Th dating of coral calcite is challenging due to open‐system issues.

Low-cost retrofitting solutions for RC frames using masonry infill panels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A large number of reinforced concrete (RC) frame structures built in earthquake-prone areas such as Haiti are vulnerable to strong ground motions. Structures in developing countries need low-cost seismic retrofit solutions to reduce their vulnerability.

Study on Seismic Performance of RC Frame Structures Considering the Effect of Infilled Walls

open access: yesBuildings
This paper studies the impact of half-height infilled walls on the failure modes of frame columns through quasi-static tests of both frame models and half-height infilled wall frame models.
