Extension of Displacement-Based Assessment to Infilled RC Frames
2014The existing buildings in several countries are characterized by numerous examples of RC frames with masonry infills. Various studies showed how the presence of masonry infills may alter the overall behaviour of structures when subjected to seismic action. The presence of the masonry infills can produce positive or negative effects.

Seismic retrofitting of RC frames with RC infilling (SERFIN Project)
2023The effectiveness of seismic retrofitting of multi-storey multi-bay RC-frame buildings by converting selected bays into new walls through infilling with reinforced concrete (RC) was studied experimentally at the ELSA facility of the Joint Research Centre in Ispra (Italy).

Finite Element Modeling of Masonry-Infilled RC Frames
Journal of Structural Engineering, 1997Experimental and analytical studies have been carried out to investigate the performance of masonry-infilled RC frames under in-plane lateral loadings. In this paper, the experimental results are concisely summarized, and a constitutive model is presented for the modeling of masonry mortar joints and cementitious interfaces in general.

Numerical dynamic tests of masonry-infilled RC frames
Engineering Structures, 2013Several numerical dynamic tests of two-storey masonry-infilled reinforced concrete frames were performed by previously developed numerical model of authors. Bare frames, fully masonry-infilled frames and masonry-infilled frames with openings, with variants of high-stiffness and low-stiffness masonry, were studied.

RC-frames infilled with rc infill-walls for seismic retrofitting
2021The seismic retrofitting of existing multi-storey multi-bay reinforced concrete (RC) frame buildings by the conversion of selected bays into new RC infilled walls is the subject of this research work. The parametric study of the contribution of dowels that connect a new RC infill wall to the surrounding RC frame members was performed through nonlinear ...

Modeling techniques for RC-frame systems with infills
2010There are many different approaches to simulate the mechanical behavior of RC−Frames with masonry infills. In this paper, selected modeling techniques for masonry infills and reinforced concrete frame members will be discussed − stressing the attention on the damaging effects of the individual members and the entire system under quasi−static horizontal

Strengthening of RC nonductile frames with RC infills: An experimental study
Cement and Concrete Composites, 2008Abstract The purpose of this study was to experimentally investigate the behavior of RC nonductile frames with RC infills under lateral loads. A total of six 1/3 scaled one bay, two story nonductile specimens were built and tested under reversed cyclic lateral load. Specimen frames were manufactured with the deficiencies commonly observed in practice.

Seismic performance improvement of infilled nonductile RC frames
2014The objective of this paper is to report the result of an experimental program conducted on the strengthening of nonductile RC frames by using external mesh reinforcement and plaster application. This type of strengthening technique is recently added to the new Turkish Earthquake Code (2007).

The Study on Infilled Walls Effect in RC Frame Infilled Wall Structure
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013The seismic damage and even collapse of the infilled walls in RC frame infilled wall structure is the issue that needs thorough study, In this paper, firstly introduces the improved infilled wall model which can consider the interaction of in-plane and out-of-plane, and can judge the damage state of infilled walls, as well as the interaction between RC
