Rivulet Approach to Rates of Preferential Infiltration
Preferential infiltration is proposed to occur under atmospheric pressure but in unsaturated soil. Its domain is positioned between the domains of Richards' equation and Darcy's law. Rivulets in the form of tiny water streaks are considered to be the basic units of preferential infiltration.

The Effects of Nebkhas on Soil Infiltration and Evaluation of Some Infiltration Equations in Desert Conditions (Case Study: Ephedra strobilacea and Tamarix ramosissima Species [PDF]
In recent years, the idea of nebkhas as a degradation index changed to signs of adaption and stability in desert conditions. Plants growth condition is very restricted in desert biomes, but nebkhas ecologically provide a better condition for some plants ...

Infiltration Rates on Rootplowed Rangeland [PDF]
Infiltration and runoff from mechanically treated arid Southwestern rangeland were measured. Control plots dominated by creosotebush had greater infiltration rates than the 1972 and 1976 rootplowed and seeded treatments, stressing the importance of cover for reducing runoff and controlling erosion.

Conversion of soil water infiltration rates between vegetated and non-vegetated land covers by using the Kostiakov-Lewis model [PDF]
Soil water infiltration rates are essential for hydrological studies, planning and design of irrigation and drainage systems, among other applications. Various studies have been carried out in plots with and without vegetation cover, aiming to identify ...
