On infinite divisibility of positive definite functions arising from operator means
For a (point-wisely non-negative) positive definite function a certain criterion for its infinite divisibility (i.e., all its fractional powers are also positive definite) is obtained.

Local Elites in Chile's Pisco Valley: Dispossession, Legal Mobilisation and Intertwined Citizenship
ABSTRACT In countries in the Global South, citizenship is often closely tied to access to water and land ownership. In Latin America, the literature has primarily explored social mobilisation and identity reconfiguration in response to development‐driven processes of land and water dispossession affecting peasants, rural and Indigenous communities ...

A Class of Infinitely Divisible Mixtures
I X/(X h(t)) are considered. It will be shown that mixtures of cf's of type I are inf div if h(t) is such that X/(X h(t)) is a cf for all X > 0. The class of functions h(t) satisfying this condition will be determined. 2. Preliminaries. In our proof we will make use of the L6vy-Khinchine canonical representation: +(t) is an inf div cf if and only if (2)

Abstract While research on ecosystems and their orchestration has grown rapidly, we still know little about how individual strategic leaders may mobilize ecosystemic action in times of disruption. This article addresses this gap by drawing on an in‐depth case study of the Antwerp Square Mile, the world’s oldest and most renowned diamond trading ...

On Infinitely Divisible Random Vectors
A normally distributed random vector $X$ is well known to be representable by $A \cdot Y$ (in the sense of having identical distributions), where $A$ is a matrix of constants and $Y$ is a random vector whose component random variables are independent. A necessary and sufficient condition for any infinitely divisible random vector to be so representable

ABSTRACT This study develops a novel multivariate stochastic framework for assessing systemic risks, such as climate and nature‐related shocks, within production or financial networks. By embedding a linear stochastic fluid network, interpretable as a generalized vector Ornstein–Uhlenbeck process, into the production network of interdependent ...

Regularity of Infinitely Divisible Processes
Some new tools are applied for the investigation of regularity properties of infinitely divisible random processes without Gaussian component, satisfying certain condition on its spectral measure. The majorizing measure is extended and applied to discuss the structure of bounded processes of this type.

Random Carbon Tax Policy and Investment Into Emission Abatement Technologies
ABSTRACT We analyze the problem of a profit‐maximizing electricity producer, subject to carbon taxes, who decides on investments into CO2$\rm CO_2$ abatement technologies. We assume that the carbon tax policy is random and that the investment in the abatement technology is divisible, irreversible, and subject to transaction costs.

Infinite divisibility in theory and practice
The principles of infinite divisibility are discussed, and illustrated by their occurrence in statistical models. A number of conditions for infinite divisibility are presented, and used to prove the infinite divisibility of many well-known distributions

Bilinear recurrences and addition formulae for hyperelliptic sigma functions [PDF]
The Somos 4 sequences are a family of sequences satisfying a fourth order bilinear recurrence relation. In recent work, one of us has proved that the general term in such sequences can be expressed in terms of the Weierstrass sigma function for an ...
