Inflation expectations and risk premiums in an arbitrage-free model of nominal and real bond yields [PDF]

open access: yes
Differences between yields on comparable-maturity U.S. Treasury nominal and real debt, the so-called breakeven inflation (BEI) rates, are widely used indicators of inflation expectations.

A Linearly Deformable Pneumatic Scalable Microgripper for Universal Mid‐Air Micromanipulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a fully 3D printed soft microgripper capable of active adhesion control through a pneumatic system. Its modular design can reach a high adhesion switching ratio of 373 and free release of micro‐objects at 100 μm$\umu \rm {m}$ dimension.

Hump‐Shaped Relationship Between Microbial Carbon Use‐Efficiency and Soil Organic Carbon in Alpine Grasslands

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
On the Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau, microbial carbon use efficiency (CUE) peaks at intermediate soil organic carbon levels and declines thereafter. In carbon‐rich soils, the formation of stable mineral‐associated organic carbon is decoupled from microbial CUE.

How inflation hawks escape expectations traps [PDF]

open access: yes
Why did inflation increase so dramatically from the 1960s to the 1970s? One possible theory is that once people started believing inflation would rise, the Fed was forced to validate those expectations by increasing the money supply.

Meta‐GWAS of Pig Semen Quality Traits Reveals Conserved Genes Regulating Mammalian Fertility

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study incorporated 14 210 individuals to perform a GWAS meta‐analysis of six semen quality traits. The GWAS meta‐analysis identifies 234 GWAS loci associated with semen quality traits. The incorporation with a functional genomics resource explains potential genetic regulation of ∼40% GWAS signals underlying semen quality traits.
