Divergent inflation rates in EMU [PDF]
We analyze the sources of divergent national inflation rates among EMU member countries. At one level, we review the Irish 'outlier' experience; at another, we estimate panel regressions for the 1999-2001 period. We highlight the role played by differential exposure to euro exchange rate movements in explaining inflation divergence.

AbstractIn this work, I consider an inflation model with a quadratic potential and a negative cosmological constant. An analytical solution of the equation of motion for the inflaton field is found without slow-roll approximation. The result is that the inflation field is rolling at a constant speed.

Euro area inflation as a predictor of national inflation rates [PDF]
Abstract The stability of inflation differentials is an important condition for the smooth working of a currency area, such as the European Economic and Monetary Union. In the presence of stability, changes in national inflation rates, while holding Euro area inflation fixed contemporaneously, should be only transitory.
