When Does the Inflaton Decay? [PDF]
In order for the inflaton to decay into radiation at the end of inflation, it needs to couple to light matter fields. In this article we determine whether such couplings cause the inflaton to decay during inflation rather than after it.

Gravitino problem in inflation driven by inflaton-polonyi Kähler coupling
We discuss the cosmological gravitino problem in inflation models in which the inflaton potential is constructed from Kähler potential rather than superpotential: a representative model is D3‾-induced geometric inflation.

We investigate a new mechanism for realizing slow roll inflation in string theory, based on the dynamics of p anti-D3 branes in a class of mildly warped flux compactifications.

We present a unified model where the same scalar field can drive inflation and account for the present dark matter abundance. This scenario is based on the incomplete decay of the inflaton field into right-handed neutrino pairs, which is accomplished by ...

Non-Gaussianity from Particle Production during Inflation [PDF]
In a variety of models the motion of the inflaton may trigger the production of some non-inflaton particles during inflation, for example via parametric resonance or a phase transition.

Observational constraints on the inflaton potential combined with flow-equations in inflaton space [PDF]
Direct observations provide constraints on the first two derivatives of the inflaton potential in slow roll models. We discuss how present day observations, combined with the flow equations in slow roll parameter space, provide a non-trivial constraint ...

Spontaneous baryogenesis from asymmetric inflaton
We propose a variant scenario of spontaneous baryogenesis from asymmetric inflaton based on current–current interactions between the inflaton and matter fields with a non-zero B−L charge.

Higgs–inflaton mixing and vacuum stability
The quartic and trilinear Higgs field couplings to an additional real scalar are renormalizable, gauge and Lorentz invariant. Thus, on general grounds, one expects such couplings between the Higgs and an inflaton in quantum field theory. We find that the

We propose a novel scenario in which scalar perturbations, which seed the large-scale structure of the universe, are generated without relying on a scalar field (the inflaton).

Baryogenesis from the inflaton field
In this letter we show that the inflaton can generate the cosmological baryon asymmetry. We take the inflaton to be a complex scalar field with a weakly broken global symmetry and develop a new variant on the Affleck–Dine mechanism.
