Hybrid Nanoparticles Separated by Buoyant Density in a Large‐Scale Centrifugal Process

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Zonal rotors, shaped like hollow bowls, can sort mixtures of macromolecules and polymer nanoparticles based only on their densities, regardless of their actual sizes or shapes. Using these rotors can make a big difference because they do not need to use centrifuge tubes.

Mathematical modeling for estimating influenza vaccine efficacy: A case study of the Valencian Community, Spain.

open access: yesInfectious Disease Modelling
Vaccine efficacy and its quantification is a crucial concept for the proper design of public health vaccination policies. In this work we proposed a mathematical model to estimate the efficacy of the influenza vaccine in a real-word scenario.

Structural and Functional Characterization of the 28 kDa Structured Core of BmSA1, the Major Surface Antigen of Babesia Microti

open access: yesProteins: Structure, Function, and Bioinformatics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Babesiosis is a tick‐borne disease that poses a significant threat to animal health worldwide. In addition, climate change and the risk of human‐to‐human transmission through blood transfusion have made babesiosis an emerging disease in humans.

A Multiscale Quantitative Systems Pharmacology Model for the Development and Optimization of mRNA Vaccines

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics &Systems Pharmacology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The unprecedented effort to cope with the COVID‐19 pandemic has unlocked the potential of mRNA vaccines as a powerful technology, set to become increasingly pervasive in the years to come. As in other areas of drug development, mathematical modeling is a pivotal tool to support and expedite the mRNA vaccine development process.
