A Game Theoretical Approach to Modeling Information Dissemination in Social Networks [PDF]

open access: yesD. Zinoviev, V. Duong, and H. Zhang, "A Game Theoretical Approach to Modeling Information Dissemination in Social Networks," in Proc. IMCCIC-2010, Vol. I, pp. 407--412, Orlando, FL, April 2010, 2010
One major function of social networks (e.g., massive online social networks) is the dissemination of information such as scientific knowledge, news, and rumors. Information can be propagated by the users of the network via natural connections in written, oral or electronic form. The information passing from a sender to a receiver intrinsically involves

Aberrant expression of nuclear prothymosin α contributes to epithelial‐mesenchymal transition in lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nuclear prothymosin α inhibits epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in lung cancer by increasing Smad7 acetylation and competing with Smad2 for binding to SNAI1, TWIST1, and ZEB1 promoters. In early‐stage cancer, ProT suppresses TGF‐β‐induced EMT, while its loss in the nucleus in late‐stage cancer leads to enhanced EMT and poor prognosis.

Nearly Optimal Probabilistic Coverage for Roadside Advertisement Dissemination in Urban VANETs [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
Advertisement disseminations based on Roadside Access Points (RAPs) in vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs) attract lots of attentions and have a promising prospect. In this paper, we focus on a roadside advertisement dissemination, including three basic elements: RAP Service Provider (RSP), mobile vehicles and shops.

Improving the Effectiveness of the Dissemination Method in Disaster Early Warning Messages [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The dissemination of disaster early warning messages has a significant role in the effectiveness and serviceability in an Early Warning System (EWS). Providing the community in a disaster area with an adequate dissemination and communication of early ...

Lymphatic transport of exosomes as a rapid route of information dissemination to the lymph node

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2016
It is well documented that cells secrete exosomes, which can transfer biomolecules that impact recipient cells’ functionality in a variety of physiologic and disease processes.

Early metastasis is characterized by Gr1+ cell dysregulation and is inhibited by immunomodulatory nanoparticles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer metastasis is associated with myeloid cell dysregulation and the lung‐specific accumulation of tumor‐supportive Gr1+ cells. Gr1+ cells support metastasis, in part, through a CHI3L1‐mediated mechanism, which can be targeted and inhibited with cargo‐free, polymeric nanoparticles.

Gossiping with Multiple Messages [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2006
This paper investigates the dissemination of multiple pieces of information in large networks where users contact each other in a random uncoordinated manner, and users upload one piece per unit time. The underlying motivation is the design and analysis of piece selection protocols for peer-to-peer networks which disseminate files by dividing them into

Trust Exploitation and Attention Competition: A Game Theoretical Model

open access: yes, 2016
The proliferation of Social Network Sites (SNSs) has greatly reformed the way of information dissemination, but also provided a new venue for hosts with impure motivations to disseminate malicious information.
