Logic and the Dynamics of Information
Minds and Machines, 2003We discuss how issues of information and computation interact with logic today, and what might be a natural extended agenda of investigation.

Displaying dynamic information
CHI '01 Extended Abstracts on Human Factors in Computing Systems, 2001In this paper I introduce the problem of displaying dynamic information. I give several examples where an individual must interact with information that is changing beyond her control. The challenge in displaying this information is to discover how the user's context can be maintained while giving her access to the new information that becomes ...

Dynamic information visualization
ACM SIGMOD Record, 1996Dynamic queries constitute a very powerful mechanism for information visualization; some universe of data is visualized, and this visualization is modified on-the-fly as users modify the range of interest within the domains of the various attributes of the visualized information.

A model of information systems such that data depend on a state of the system is introduced. A logic is developed enabling us to define query languages for such systems.

Dynamics of time and information in dynamic time
Biosystems, 1998Time is intrinsically locally asynchronous, dynamic in itself, and self-organizing in having locally asynchronous time precipitate further asynchronous time while leaving behind globally synchronous time. The resulting global synchronism is skewed in locally asynchronous time, while being vertical to the effected globally synchronous time.

The Interlevel Dynamics of Information Technology
Journal of Information Technology, 1998Levels of analysis are common frameworks for describing organizational dynamics, both in the general organizational and the information technology (IT)-organizational literature. Levels of analysis – individual, group, intergroup and organizational – are typically presented as constructs under which particular organizational dynamics can be grouped and

Dynamic scheduling with incomplete information
Proceedings of the tenth annual ACM symposium on Parallel algorithms and architectures - SPAA '98, 1998We consider the following scheduling problem: Our goal is to execute a given amount of arbitrarily decomposable work on a distributed machine as quickly as possible. The work is maintained by a central scheduler that can assign chunks of work of an arbitrary size to idle processors. The difficulty is that the processing time required for a chunk is not

Dynamic information theory and information description of dynamic systems
Science China Physics, Mechanics and Astronomy, 2010In this paper, we develop dynamic statistical information theory established by the author. Starting from the ideas that the state variable evolution equations of stochastic dynamic systems, classical and quantum nonequilibrium statistical physical systems and special electromagnetic field systems can be regarded as their information symbol evolution ...
