Information extraction overview [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of a workshop on held at Fredericksburg, Virginia September 19-23, 1993 -, 1993
The information explosion of the last decade has placed increasing demands on processing and analyzing large volumes of on-line data. In response, the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) has been supporting research to develop a new technology called information extraction. Information extraction is a type of document processing which captures and

The solution supramolecular structure of α2 → 8 polysialic acid suggests a structural cause for its low immunogenicity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
α2 → 8 polysialic acid elicits poor immunogenicity. Small‐angle scattering shows a supramolecular structure with parallel‐chain binding, although in different forms at μm and mm calcium. The major histocompatibility complex requires molecular weights around 2000 Da to produce antibodies, and 2000 Da polysialic oligomers will bind in these structures ...

An Information Extraction Customizer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
When an information extraction system is applied to a new task or domain, we must specify the classes of entities and relations to be extracted. This is best done by a subject matter expert, who may have little training in NLP. To meet this need, we have developed a toolset which is able to analyze a corpus and aid the user in building the ...

Refining the NaV1.7 pharmacophore of a class of venom‐derived peptide inhibitors via a combination of in silico screening and rational engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Venom peptides have shown promise in treating pain. Our study uses computer screening to identify a peptide that targets a sodium channel (NaV1.7) linked to chronic pain. We produced the peptide in the laboratory and refined its design, advancing the search for innovative pain therapies.

Exploring Customer Knowledge from Social Media to Improve the Performance of Strategy [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Management, Knowledge and Learning, 2014
Customer knowledge refers to the understanding of the customers' needs, wants, and aims. It is essential for an organization to align its processes, products, and services to build customer relationships. Managers need to understand how the acquisition

The power of microRNA regulation—insights into immunity and metabolism

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
MicroRNAs are emerging as crucial regulators at the intersection of metabolism and immunity. This review examines how miRNAs coordinate glucose and lipid metabolism while simultaneously modulating T‐cell development and immune responses. Moreover, it highlights how cutting‐edge artificial intelligence applications can identify miRNA biomarkers ...

Supervised Open Information Extraction

open access: yesNorth American Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics, 2018
We present data and methods that enable a supervised learning approach to Open Information Extraction (Open IE). Central to the approach is a novel formulation of Open IE as a sequence tagging problem, addressing challenges such as encoding multiple ...

Vietnamese Open Information Extraction [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Eighth International Symposium on Information and Communication Technology, 2017
Open information extraction (OIE) is the process to extract relations and their arguments automatically from textual documents without the need to restrict the search to predefined relations. In recent years, several OIE systems for the English language have been created but there is not any system for the Vietnamese language. In this paper, we propose

Flow‐based immunomagnetic enrichment of circulating tumor cells from diagnostic leukapheresis product

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The number of circulating tumor cells obtained from prostate cancer patients was increased approximately 5‐fold compared to regular CellSearch when processing 2 mL diagnostic leukapheresis material aliquots and increased by 44‐fold when processing 20 mL DLA aliquots using the flow enrichment target capture Halbach‐array.

CasEE: A Joint Learning Framework with Cascade Decoding for Overlapping Event Extraction [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Event extraction (EE) is a crucial information extraction task that aims to extract event information in texts. Most existing methods assume that events appear in sentences without overlaps, which are not applicable to the complicated overlapping event extraction.
