The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Information quality assessment and effects on inventory decision-making [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Information quality has become a critical concern to the success of organisations. Numerous business initiatives have been delayed or even cancelled, citing poor-quality information as the main reason.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Quality Makes the Information Market [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In this paper we consider information exchange via the Web to be an information market The notion of quality plays an important role on this information market We present a model of quality and discuss how this model can be operationalized. This leads us to quality measurement, interpretation of measurements and the associated accuracy An ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Information quality chain analysis for total information quality management

open access: yesInternational Journal of Information Quality, 2008
The quality of information (or Information Quality, IQ) is important to organisations and the society. IQ Management (IQM) aims at the evaluation of the quality of the main components of the system, as well as the identification of strategic plan to improve the IQ for the organisation. The paper discusses the complexity of total IQM (TIQM).

Decision Making and Quality-of-Information [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In Group Decision Making based on argumentation, decisions are made considering the diverse points of view of the different partakers in order to decide which course of action a group should follow. However, knowledge and belief are normally incomplete, contradictory, or error sensitive, being desirable to use formal tools to deal with the problems ...

Diagnostic accuracy of 18F Prostate Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA) PET-CT radiotracers in staging and restaging of high-risk prostate cancer patients and patients with biochemical recurrence: protocol for an overview of reviews [version 2; peer review: 2 approved]

open access: yesHRB Open Research
Background Correct staging and risk stratification is essential in ensuring prostate cancer patients are offered the most appropriate treatment. Interest has been growing in the use of radiotracers targeting prostate specific membrane antigen (PSMA ...
