The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Feral edges: Permaculture's rewilding of Japan's food/fūdo on abandoned lands. In McGreevy, S., Rupprecht, C. D.D. & Tamura, N. (Éds.), Food baskets for post-growth Japan: revaluing informal and wild food practices as provisioning systems, ANU Press.

In some remote mountainous areas or confined valleys of Japan’s countryside, permaculture has found feral lands to flourish. The abandonment of lands caused by rural exodus and depopulation has opened up new edges for creativity and reinvention of food culture outside the dominant processes of food commodification and food aestheticization.
