An infrared search for primeval galaxies
1994We present early results of a near-infrared search for Primeval Galaxies (PGs), i.e., galaxies forming the bulk of their stars at high redshift. These results are compared with some theoretical expectations on the surface density of the PGs.

Near-Infrared Spectroscopy of Ultraluminous Infrared Galaxies
1994We report K band spectra of fourteen ultraluminous (LIR ≥ 1012L⊙) galaxies from the IRAS Extended Bright Galaxy Sample (EBGS) and ten less luminous EBGS galaxies. For the lower luminosity systems, good correlations are found between the H2 v=1-0S(1) and far-infrared (FIR) fluxes, and Brγ and FIR fluxes.
