Infrared Spectroscopy of Blood
Applied Spectroscopy, 2021The magnitude of infectious diseases in the twenty-first century created an urgent need for point-of-care diagnostics. Critical shortages in reagents and testing kits have had a large impact on the ability to test patients with a suspected parasitic, bacteria, fungal, and viral infections.

Infrared Refraction Spectroscopy
Applied Spectroscopy, 2021We suggest a new modality of infrared spectroscopy termed Infrared Refraction Spectroscopy, which is complimentary to absorption spectroscopy. The beauty of this new modality lies not only in its simplicity but also in the fact that it closes an important gap: It allows to quantitatively interpret reflectance spectra by simplest means.

Critical Care Medicine, 2009
Abstract : Over the last years, tissue microcirculatory and regional perfusion and oxygenation have made an important entry into the functional hemodynamic monitoring of critically ill patients (1). Clinical assessment of these parameters has become possible by the introduction of optical spectroscopic technologies such as near-infrared spectroscopy ...

Infrared spectroscopy of glycolipids
Chemistry and Physics of Lipids, 1998The application of infrared spectroscopy to the physicochemical characterization of glycolipids as biologically important membrane constituents is described. In this contribution, the analysis of diacyl- and sphingosine-based (cerebroside, ganglioside) oligosaccharides and the class of lipid A-anchored lipooligo- and polysaccharides is reviewed ...

Infrared spectroscopy of retinoids
Analytical Biochemistry, 1983The Fourier transform infrared spectra of 15 purified retinoids were compared. Retinoids with conjugated C = O groups revealed the presence of a band between 1730 and 1630 cm-1 X A characteristic of retinoids is the presence of a band between 1650 and 1620 cm-1 due to C = C stretching where three to four conjugated C = O and C = C bonds were present or
