Inhalable Nano Formulation of Cabazitaxel: A Comparative Study with Intravenous Route

open access: yesMacromolecular Bioscience, EarlyView.
Nano drug formulation shows no signs of toxicity for IV and INH routes, whereas higher systemic toxicity occurs in free drug formulation in both. Inhalable nano formulation provides higher and longer retention in deep lung regions due to its size and defies rapid systemic absorption in the lungs.

Development of a Decellularized Urinary Bladder Matrix and Heparin‐Based Cryogel for Promoting Angiogenesis

open access: yesMacromolecular Bioscience, EarlyView.
A dECM‐based cryogel scaffold with sustained VEGF release is developed to promote angiogenesis in ischemic tissues. Fabricated from decellularized porcine urinary bladder matrix and heparin, the scaffold supports VEGF binding and prolonged release. The cryogel demonstrates enhanced angiogenic potential in vitro and in a murine hindlimb ischemia model ...

Asymmetry analysis of nuclear Overhauser enhancement effect at ‐1.6 ppm in ischemic stroke

open access: yesMedical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The nuclear Overhauser enhancement (NOE)‐mediated saturation transfer effect at ‐1.6 ppm, termed NOE(‐1.6 ppm), has demonstrated potential for detecting ischemic stroke. However, the quantification of the NOE(‐1.6 ppm) effect usually relies on a multiple‐pool Lorentzian fit method, which necessitates a time‐consuming acquisition of ...

Intratracheal Administration of Nanoplastics With Varying Surface Hydrophobicity Results in Coarsely Vacuolated Alveolar Macrophages, Transient Respiratory Inflammation, and Mild Collagen Deposition

open access: yesNano Select, EarlyView.
Nanoplastic hydrophobicity drives adverse effects in the lung. Single intratracheal administration of poly(vinyl acetate‐co‐alcohol) nanoplastics with varying surface hydrophobicity shows that the more hydrophobic nanoplastics increase prevalence of coarsely vacuolated alveolar macrophages, induce transient respiratory inflammation and mild collagen ...

Fetal Endoscopic Tracheal Occlusion (FETO) for Left and Right Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia in Canada

open access: yesPrenatal Diagnosis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To describe perinatal and short‐term pediatric outcomes and procedural safety of fetal endoscopic tracheal occlusion (FETO) in a Canadian national referral centre. Methods Retrospective study including all consecutive FETO cases at the Ontario Fetal Centre between 2010 and 2024.

Spina bifida as a multifactorial birth defect: Risk factors and genetic underpinnings

open access: yesPediatric Discovery, EarlyView.
Abstract Spina bifida is a birth defect resulting from abnormal embryonic development of the neural tube. Though spina bifida is divided into several subtypes, myelomeningocele—the most severe form of spina bifida often associated with a markedly diminished quality of life—accounts for a significant portion of cases.

Native and Engineered Extracellular Vesicles for the Treatment of Acute Lung Injury and Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome

open access: yesSmall Science, EarlyView.
Both native and engineered extracellular vesicles (EVs) are served as promising therapeutic agents for treating acute lung injury (ALI) and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). To circumvent the limitations of native EVs, various engineering strategies are adopted.

Systemic Brain Delivery of Oligonucleotide Therapeutics Enhanced by Protein Corona‐Assisted DNA Cubes

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
In vivo, screening of DNA nanostructures yields a cube‐shaped structure (D‐Cb) as a protein corona‐assisted platform for brain delivery of oligonucleotide therapeutics. D‐Cb effectively delivers polo‐like kinase 1 (PLK‐1) antisense oligonucleotides (ASO) to treat glioblastoma in an orthotopic mouse model, demonstrating its potential as a carrier for ...
