Dumbbell‐Structured Plasmonic‐Enhanced Optical Nanoprobes Boosting Photo‐Magnetic‐Acoustic Multimodal Imaging‐Guided Photodynamic‐Photothermal Synergistic Treatment and Immunogenic Death in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reports a novel rationally‐designed optical nanoprobe based on dumbbell‐shaped mesoporous silica‐coated gold nanorods, loaded with rare‐earth oxides, photosensitizers, and tumor‐targeted peptides, enabling plasmonic‐enhanced multimodal imaging and PTT‐PDT synergy.

A clinical perspective of the inhaler technique [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Introduction: Asthma therapy requires, together with appropriate medication, a correct inhalational technique. However, incorrect inhaler usage is frequent.

Boosting Sensory Nerve‐to‐Bone Interactions Enhances Hedgehog Mediated Calvarial Bone Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Boosting sensory nerve activity via TrkA agonism strongly accelerates calvarial bone repair in adult mice. Furthermore, single‐cell RNA sequencing and neuron–bone interactome analyses identify these sensory neurons as a direct neural source of Hedgehog pathway ligands. Consequently, these ligands drive osteoblast differentiation of skeletal progenitors,

CK2α Deficiency Drives Myocardial Fibrosis via Desmin‐Induced Mitochondrial Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CK2α preserves mitochondrial homeostasis by phosphorylating Desmin to recruit Cryab, ensuring proper filament assembly. CK2α deficiency disrupts this interaction, causing mitochondrial dysfunction, metabolic shifts, bioenergetic failure, and oxidative stress—ultimately establishing a pro‐fibrotic environment that drives cardiac fibrosis.

Brown Adipocyte Sheets Alleviate Myocardial Ischemia–Reperfusion Injury Through NRG4–ErbB4–Dependent Ferroptosis Inhibition

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Brown adipocyte sheets are engineered to protect the heart against myocardial ischemia–reperfusion injury by restraining ferroptosis. Upon transplantation onto the cardiac surface, they improve cardiac function, limit infarction and fibrosis, and enhance angiogenesis.

Physicians' Knowledge of Inhaler Devices and Inhalation Techniques Remains Poor in Spain

open access: yesJournal of Aerosol Medicine and Pulmonary Drug Delivery, 2011
Abstract Background: Studies in many countries in the 1990s revealed deficiencies in physicians' knowledge about inhalation therapy. In an attempt to remedy this situation, Spanish scientific societies implemented a variety of educational strategies.

Optimizing Inhaler Technique

open access: yes, 2018
Studies show that correct patient technique using inhalers is correlated to the number of times they are taught and reminded by a health care professional. As a step toward addressing this problem, I propose increasing inhaler use teaching, utilizing EMR

Suboptimal inhaler medication adherence and incorrect technique are common among chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients

open access: yes, 2016
Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are routinely prescribed one or more inhaled medications. Adherence to inhaler medications and correct inhaler device technique are crucial to successful COPD management.
