Phantom Wormholes in (2+1)-dimensions

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper, we have constructed a (2+1)-dimensional wormhole using inhomogeneous and anisotropic distribution of phantom energy. We have determined the exact form of the equation of state of phantom energy that supports the wormhole structure ...

Impact of Pre‐Oxidation Treatments on a Recycled MgO/Steel‐Composite as Carbon Free Anode in Aluminum‐Electrolysis Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Cermets (60 vol.% AISI 316L stainless steel, 40 vol.% recycled MgO), intended for use in aluminum electrolysis, were pre‐oxidized in three furnaces with different heating technologies and subjected to a cryolite corrosion test. The different atmospheres influenced the formation of oxide layers, which in turn affected corrosion resistance and ...

On the Relationship between the Inhomogeneous Wave and Helmholtz Equations in a Fractional Setting

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2019
We study convergence of solutions of a space and time inhomogeneous fractional wave equation on the quarter-plane to the stationary regime described by solutions of the Helmholtz equation.

Parabolic inequalities in inhomogeneous Orlicz-Sobolev spaces with gradients constraints and L1-data

open access: yesMoroccan Journal of Pure and Applied Analysis, 2022
This work is devoted to the study of a new class of parabolic problems in inhomogeneous Orlicz spaces with gradient constraints and L1-data. One proves the existence of the solution by studying the asymptotic behaviour as p goes to ∞, of a sequence of ...

Inhomogeneous Boundary Value Problem for Hartree Type Equation

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper, we settle the problem for time-dependent Hartree equation with inhomogeneous boundary condition in a bounded Lipschitz domain in $\mathbb{R}^{N}$.

Inverse problem for an inhomogeneous Schrödinger equation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Physics, 1999
Let (l−k2)u=−u″+q(x)u−k2u=δ(x), x∈R, ∂u/∂|x|−iku→0, |x|→∞. Assume that the potential q(x) is real valued and compactly supported: q(x)=q(x)¯, q(x)=0 for |x|⩾1, ∫−11|q|dx<∞, and that q(x) produces no bound states. Let u(−1,k) and u(1,k), ∀k>0 be the data. It is shown that under the above assumptions these data determine q(x) uniquely.

Parameter Variation in Planetary Ball Milling of Titanium Aluminide Powder in XHV‐Adequate Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates the effects of milling parameters, including rotational speed, milling duration, and ball‐to‐powder ratio, on TiAl particle size and morphology in an XHV‐equivalent atmosphere. The creation of oxide‐free surfaces enhances the mechanical properties of green bodies.

Effects of Three-Axial Material Inhomogeneity on Lengthwise Cracks in Non-Linear Elastic Beams

open access: yesEngineering Transactions, 2019
The present paper investigates lengthwise crack behaviour in three-axial inhomogeneous non-linear elastic cantilever beams, i.e., beams which exhibit inhomogeneous material properties along the width, height and length.

Influence of Test Temperature and Test Frequency on Fatigue Life of Aluminum Alloy EN AW‐2618A

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The influence of test temperature and test frequency on the fatigue life of EN AW‐2618A is investigated. High‐cycle fatigue tests are performed at different test temperatures and frequencies on the 1000 h/230°C overaged state. Both test parameters reduce fatigue life due to time‐dependent damage mechanisms.

Criterion of the Existence of a Strongly Continuous Resolving Family for a Fractional Differential Equation with the Hilfer Derivative

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
In the qualitative theory of differential equations in Banach spaces, the resolving families of operators of such equations play an important role.
