Elastic States of Inhomogeneous Spheroidal Inclusions
Eshelby's inclusion problem of linear isotropic elasticity is applied to evaluate the elastic strain energies of general spheroidal inclusions with various misfit strains. The strain-energy minimization criterion is adopted and difference in elastic constants between the inclusion and the surrounding matrix is taken into account.

Lattice-corrected strain-induced vector potentials in graphene
The electronic implications of strain in graphene can be captured at low energies by means of pseudovector potentials which can give rise to pseudomagnetic fields. These strain-induced vector potentials arise from the local perturbation to the electronic

Comment on "Charged vector mesons in a strong magnetic field" [PDF]
In a recent paper Y. Hidaka and A. Yamamoto [Phys. Rev. D 87 (2013) 094502] claim -- using both analytical and numerical approaches -- that the charged rho mesons cannot condense in the vacuum subjected to a strong magnetic field.

Non-adiabatic time-dependent density functional theory of the impurity resistivity of metals
We make use of the time-dependent density functional theory to derive a new formally exact expression for the dc resistivity of metals with impurities. This expression takes fully into account the dynamics of electron-electron interactions. Correction to

Solving multivariate polynomial systems and an invariant from commutative algebra [PDF]
The complexity of computing the solutions of a system of multivariate polynomial equations by means of Gr\"obner bases computations is upper bounded by a function of the solving degree.

Extraordinary Magnetoresistance in Hybrid Semiconductor-Metal Systems [PDF]
We show that extraordinary magnetoresistance (EMR) arises in systems consisting of two components; a semiconducting ring with a metallic inclusion embedded.

Viscous attenuation of gravitational waves propagating through an inhomogeneous background
We consider the propagation of gravitational waves in the late-time Universe in the presence of matter distribution inhomogeneities, and we also consider the cosmic fluid to be viscous.

Precipitation response to regional radiative forcing [PDF]
Precipitation shifts can have large impacts on human society and ecosystems. Many aspects of how inhomogeneous radiative forcings influence precipitation remain unclear, however.

The improved Ginzburg-Landau technique
We discuss an innovative method for the description of inhomogeneous phases designed to improve the standard Ginzburg-Landau expansion. The method is characterized by two key ingredients.
