Composition‐Tuned Enhancement of the Anomalous Nernst Effect in FeCo–Pt Thin Films on Rigid and Flexible Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Novel Imperfection Method for Post-Buckling Strength of C-Sectioned CFS Members

open access: yes, 2023
The overall behavior of cold-formed steel (CFS) members is significantly affected from existing geometric imperfections. In this work, a mode shape-based imperfection coefficient computation method is developed to investigate the effects of initial ...

Study of The effect of thickness and initial geometric imperfection of cylindrical composite shell on the buckling behavior in axial pressure [PDF]

open access: yesمجله مدل سازی در مهندسی, 2018
Today, composite cylindrical shells extensively, have been used in aerospace to increase the performance of the structures. Experience has shown that, when the shells are under compressive loading, Buckling phenomenon will be the most important factor in

Fatigue assessment of flange connections in offshore wind turbines under the initial flatness divergence

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2023
Bolted ring flange connections are widely utilized in offshore wind turbines to connect steel tubular segments. After the massive production and installation of offshore wind turbines in the past decade, flatness divergence is regarded as one of the most

Post-Buckling Range of Plates in Axial Compression with Uncertain Initial Geometric Imperfections [PDF]

open access: yesApplications of Mathematics, 2002
The paper deals with the worst scenario method which is applied to von Kármán equations with uncertain initial deflection. Assuming two mode initial and total deflection and using Galerkin method, the problem leads to a system of two nonlinear algebraic equations with one or two uncertain parameters.

Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.

Microstructure Evolution of a VMnFeCoNi High‐Entropy Alloy After Synthesis, Swaging, and Annealing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The synthesis and processing (rotary swaging and annealing) of the novel VMnFeCoNi alloy is investigated, alongside the estimation of the grain size effect on hardness. Analysis of a wide grain size range of recrystallized microstructures (12–210 µm) reveals a low annealing twin density.
