Surgical Endoscopy, 2010
Laparoendoscopic single-site surgery (LESS) was motivated by the desire to make minimally invasive surgery even more "minimal." We performed gasless laparoendoscopic single-site surgery (GLESS) with abdominal wall lift (AWL) for cholecystectomy and fenestration of liver cyst.

Experimental Brain Research, 2002
The development of the ability to integrate postural adjustments into the gait initiation process was investigated in children, using both kinematic and electromyographic (EMG) analysis. Subjects included children of 1 year of age (1-4 months' walking experience), 2-3 years of age (9-17 months' walking experience), 4-5 years of age (3-4 years' walking ...

The initial lift and drag of an impulsively started airfoil of finite thickness
Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 1982The method of apparent masses is utilized to compute the initial lift and drag of an airfoil that starts impulsively from rest. Analytical solutions are obtained for in viscid incompressible flow past a slightly cambered airfoil at a small angle of attack.

Experimental Study on Temperature Lifting of Heat Pump System at Initial Drying Stage
Advanced Materials Research, 2012In order to increase drying rate at initial stage, the heat pump drying systems often lift temperature of the drying air assisted with electrical heating. However, power consumption of drying systems is raised. By taking advantage of an auxiliary evaporator and adjusting its fluid fluxes, the heat pump drying systems can acquire the same results of ...

Coalitions lifted barriers to MOUD through CADCA‐Indivior initiative
Alcoholism & Drug Abuse WeeklyA pair of anti‐drug coalitions in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, took a step beyond their core work in primary prevention to advance the provision of medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) in their community. Their efforts came about as part of a coalition training partnership jointly sponsored by Community Anti‐Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA ...

[Lift mask with use of a malleable implant: BOP S.P. Initial results].
Annales de chirurgie plastique et esthetique, 1992The mask lift, the latest technique for facial rejuvenation, comprises a large remodelling of the frontal and orbito-malar area. The modelling resections by bone-grinding are essentially designed to taise the superior orbital rim, but by the onlay grafts on the malar bone as well as the ones on the superior orbital rim many problems occur due to the ...

Lifting Problem in codimension 2 and initial ideals
2004Let X be a codimension 2, locally Cohen-Macaulay, integral, projective variety of degree d in PN. We consider the problem of finding conditions on d, N and s such that any degree s hypersurface in PN−1 containing a general hyperplane section of X lifts to a hypersurface in PN containing X.
