Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Optimization of Trailing-Edge Unloading for Lambda-Wing UAV Using B-Spline Trailing-Edge Twist Method

open access: yesDrones
As a commonly used configuration for advanced unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the flying-wing configuration suffers from pitching moment trimming issues due to the lack of horizontal tail.

By dawn or dusk—how circadian timing rewrites bacterial infection outcomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The circadian clock shapes immune function, yet its influence on infection outcomes is only beginning to be understood. This review highlights how circadian timing alters host responses to the bacterial pathogens Salmonella enterica, Listeria monocytogenes, and Streptococcus pneumoniae revealing that the effectiveness of immune defense depends not only

Numerical Investigation of Lift Force Increase in a Hovercraft by Changing the Geometrical Parameters of Flow Transfer Part and Air Channel

open access: yesنشریه مهندسی دریا, 2020
Hovercraft is a modern air-cushion vehicle (ACV) that has the ability to move on a variety of surfaces, such as water and land. The distinguishing feature of the hovercraft and other vessels is that the hovercrafts are deployed on a layer of air and then

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Lateral-Directional Aerodynamic Optimization of a Tandem Wing UAV Using CFD Analyses

open access: yesAerospace
This paper presents the second stage of a tandem fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) aerodynamic development. In the initial stage, the UAV was optimized by analyzing its characteristics only in symmetrical flight conditions.

Rolling the dice in a game of trust: Organizational effects on trust, efficacy and motivation when using economic incentives as a driving force for development in Swedish schools

open access: yesNordic Journal of Studies in Educational Policy, 2019
For a long time, the Swedish government has tried different reforms to counteract declining student results. One action was to implement a salary-lift for teachers perceived as especially skilled.

The role and implications of mammalian cellular circadian entrainment

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
At their most fundamental level, mammalian circadian rhythms occur inside every individual cell. To tell the correct time, cells must align (or ‘entrain’) their circadian rhythm to the external environment. In this review, we highlight how cells entrain to the major circadian cues of light, feeding and temperature, and the implications this has for our
