Comparing self‐reported race and genetic ancestry for identifying potential differentially methylated sites in endometrial cancer: insights from African ancestry proportions using machine learning models

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Integrating ancestry, differential methylation analysis, and machine learning, we identified robust epigenetic signature genes (ESGs) and Core‐ESGs in Black and White women with endometrial cancer. Core‐ESGs (namely APOBEC1 and PLEKHG5) methylation levels were significantly associated with survival, with tumors from high African ancestry (THA) showing ...

Space-Based Orbit Determination Using Passive Optical Measurements in LEO [PDF]

open access: yes
openThe increasing number of artificial objects placed in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) has created the need for improvement in the present Space Surveillance and Tracking (STT) systems, which perform Orbit Determination (OD) to estimate their trajectories ...

COSMIC-2 Precise Orbit Determination [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We present initial results for post-processed GNSS orbit and clock estimation for the FORMOSAT-7/COSMIC-2 (Constellation Observing System for Meteorology, Ionosphere, and Climate) constellation.

The atypical KRASQ22K mutation directs TGF‐β response towards partial epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in patient‐derived colorectal cancer tumoroids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
TGF‐β has a complex role in cancer, exhibiting both tumor‐suppressive and tumor‐promoting properties. Using a series of differentiated tumoroids, derived from different stages and mutational background of colorectal cancer patients, we replicate this duality of TGF‐β in vitro. Notably, the atypical but highly aggressive KRASQ22K mutation rendered early‐

An Investigation Into the Use of Amateur Astronomy Equipment For Optical Orbit Determination Using a Mobile Telescope Platform [PDF]

open access: yes
The process of optical orbit determination has long been in the domain of large organizations and stationary observatories with highly specialized scientific equipment. This thesis seeks to determine not only if satellites can be captured regularly using

Multidimensional OMICs reveal ARID1A orchestrated control of DNA damage, splicing, and cell cycle in normal‐like and malignant urothelial cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the frequently mutated chromatin remodeler ARID1A, a subunit of the SWI/SNF cBAF complex, results in less open chromatin, alternative splicing, and the failure to stop cells from progressing through the cell cycle after DNA damage in bladder (cancer) cells. Created in BioRender. Epigenetic regulators, such as the SWI/SNF complex, with important

ShcD adaptor protein drives invasion of triple negative breast cancer cells by aberrant activation of EGFR signaling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.

Geocoding of SAR Image Using the Orbit and Attitude Determination of RADARSAT [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Astronomy and Space Sciences, 1998
The Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) image and the Digital Elevation Model (DEM) of an target area are put into use to generate three dimensional image map. An method of image map generation is explained.

New Bound Closed Orbits in Spherical Potentials [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
We present new families of bound, closed, nonelliptical orbits that are supported by various spherical potentials in clear contradiction to Newton's and Bertrand's theorems. We calculate analytically some typical closed orbits of arbitrarily large amplitudes for the spherically symmetric forms of the Newton-Kepler, Hooke, and linear potentials.
