Pulse velocities in initially stressed arteries
Journal of Biomechanics, 1988 In this short paper, treating the artery as a thick walled cylindrical shell and employing the large deformation theory, an analytical expression for the pulse wave speed is obtained and the effect of lumen pressure and the axial stretch on the wave speed is discussed.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
FEBS Letters, EarlyView.This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

FEBS Letters, EarlyView.Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
FEBS Letters, EarlyView.Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.
